Things were finally starting to settle and feel normal. Or as normal as you could get with Preya. The disappearances were strange and unsettling and Lily checked every day to make sure her friends and family were still around. Despite the danger that seemed to be present in this place, she fell into a comfortable routine as she had back at home. It was almost monotonous, especially not having any work to do. She had never really given thought to what she might want to do after school as the war was waging and she had dedicated her time to the Order. Now that there was only peace and quiet, she found herself feeling antsy and unsure. What could she do here? She had been to a few spots that offered magical services, but none seemed to be the right fit for her. So instead, she found herself staying around the home, casting cleaning spells left and right to keep the place nice.
But she wasn't meant for the homemaker kind of life. She needed something more. So she decided today, she'd go out and see what she could find in ways of entertainment. Maybe even a job! What she came home with was a bag full of various Nerf guns (the saleswoman had said they were very popular), as well as more ammo than she could carry. It wasn't quite what she had in mind when she had left that morning, but she couldn't help but smile when she thought about the fights the household could have with them. She'd probably be regretting this later, but for the moment, it seemed like a good idea.
She scrawled a note to James: Welcome Home! This is for you. I've officially declared war on you and am hiding in the house somewhere. This is your gun and ammo, you gotta come find me! Loser makes dinner tonight She added a bunch of hearts and a little skull and crossbones at the bottom for good measure. She grinned, leaving James the note and his set on the kitchen table before skipping through the house to find her hiding spot. She didn't know how much time she had until he got home, but this place was big enough to stave him off, at least for a few minutes.
