RP: THE WEDDING
Who: Everyone (or Savannah will be very upset
Where: The base
When: September 9, 2011
Summary: the wedding

Savannah had spent the night at G, just like she had planned, and it didn't matter that they had until the afternoon to get ready, she was still up at the crack of dawn. Luckily for her, it wasn't like anyone in this house slept. Well, Sean did, but he was outnumbered. Even Brian stopped by early (although she wasn't sure if he had gone to sleep yet. He'd better or she'd kill him). He reassured that everything was fine, that he had everything under control. Even the weather seemed to be cooperating. After days of rain, the sun was out and it was already 71 degrees, a lot warmer than it ha been for days, and the high would be a perfect 80 degrees.

She did her hair, opting to pull it up so that it wouldn't interfere with the veil. The make up she kept simple as well. Finally, it was time to get married.

The Church

Being on a budget meant that they had to get creative. Brian and Savannah had picked a simple decorative scheme for the church that matched her Cinderella theme. However when she walked into the church, she saw that Brian had spiced things up, adding layers and layers of tulle to frame the pews, just like another picture they had seen, minus the huge expensive flowers.

In front of her, there were her bridesmaids with their partners. The tuxidos were the only thing that Savannah hadn't had an hand in picking, but everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. Not as gorgeous as her bridesmaids, though. Jenna was wearing a cream dress in satin, and the color looked beautiful on her. April and Kensi were wearing the exact dress in burgundy. All three were carrying matching bouquets.

When the wedding march began to play, she began to walk down the aisle. She felt wonderful in her Cinderella wedding dress, with the 'just-the-right-length' train and the three-layer veil with a tiara and matching jewelry she had picked. For the church, she had also used the tulle stole that came with another Disney wedding dress, but since it was just tulle, she doubted anyone would know. The 'glass' shoes finished the outfit.

The walk down the small church seemed to take forever, and despite how much she wanted this, she was holding onto G for her life. She was pretty sure that neither of them had any blood left in the arms. When they reached the altar, G lifted the top layer of her veil and she smiled at him. "Thank you," she mouthed.

"Who gives this woman to be wedded to this man?" Father Guy asked.

Savannah was sure that everyone was cringing at the wording, but it was tradition, and it felt right in so many ways, and when G answered 'I do', her smile got even bigger. "Love you," she whispered, before turning to Marty and from that moment on, she only had eyes for him, through a ceremony that contained a mix of Baptist and Catholic traditions that didn't seem to differ very much.

The Reception

If Savannah had thought about everything about the ceremony and the church, Brian had gone over and above the call of duty for the reception. It started as soon as they stepped out of the church and there was an actual carriage waiting for them. After they took the pictures, the same carriage brought them back to the Officers Club for the actual reception.

The club was built to recreate the feeling of a castle with stone floors and walls, but now it was completely different. The floor was covered in pink carpet, except for an area that had wood tiles so people could dance. The walls were covered with white satin. There were a rectangular table for the bridal party and round tables for their guests. All the tables and chairs were covered in white satin and pink bow. They had created both the covers (buying a roll of white satin and one of pink lace was a lot cheaper than renting, and had worked for weeks to make them, thanks to glue and staple gun; they were fine as long as they didn't have to last more than today).

The tables had centerpieces that they had also made themselves thanks to an internet company that sent you the pieces. There were matching place holders that with a little keychain in the shape of a carriage were the favors for the guests. The bridal party had different favors. The three bridesmaids got a bracelet in a different color, although she'd be tempted to use pink for all three. Sam got a set that he'd probably add to the collection of knives he had. Robert got a knife and Sean a pocket watch.

Finally, there were buffet tables. The first table was the carving board with roast beef and Virginia ham. The second was a seafood table with baked clams, fried calamary, shrimp scampi and sea food salad. The third table was a pasta station with tortellini Alfredo, linguini with clam sauce and rigatoni ala vodka. There was a table with a mix of appatizers like bruschetta with tometo, mozzarella sticks, fresh fruit and cheese display. Finally, there was the cake table. Once again, Brian had been brilliant in finding a place where they could rent a table that looked like a carriage.

Brian had also found a few of the soldiers willing to work as waiters for the night. Paying them was a lot cheaper than professional service, but they were great and after the buffet, there weren't many more servings. They started with a salad, then a choice of Chateau Briand, chicken Francese, or grilled swordfish. At the end, there was a lemon sherbet and the dessert table.

Eliot stayed at the table, drinking and listening to the conversations around him. The sunglasses he wore to hide his eyes probably didn't go well with his dress suit, but he hadn't picked out either and couldn't see if he looked decent anyway.

It had been a tough week and, actually, he was glad for the wedding to take his mind off things. He'd heard how great Savannah had looked, how happy she seemed, and was glad for her. This world sucked ass, as did the ICIS, and it was nice that something normal and joyous could happen still.

He'd had Parker put his gift with the others, thankful that he'd gotten it early. He'd been to his share of weddings. He'd stopped believing in love a long time ago, but he did know the importance and significance of marriage.

This was nothing like the last wedding she'd been to, of course the last wedding she'd been to had been part of a job, so Parker wasn't sure it actually counted. In any case, she was glad she didn't have to stand up in front of everyone with the rest of the bridesmaids, and she hadn't had to call anyone fat. It was a marked improvement over all.

She'd been staying close with Eliot ever since that night, and tonight was no different. She was considering making him dance with her, that seemed to be what people were doing after all.

"Are weddings supposed to be so pink?" She asked quietly, just enough so that no one beyond their table would hear it. She wasn't sure but there certainly seemed to be quite a bit of it. But it didn't matter really, she got to wear a dress, and there was nice food and people seemed to be having a good time. The rest was just details, confusing details but still.

Man, there was a lot of pink at this wedding! And carriages, for that matter. Erik wasn't sure if he should be horrified or amused that Deeks' wedding was the girliest affair he'd ever been to in his life. He couldn't help but to wonder what he thought of the entire thing, though he suspected he didn't care. This wedding was Savannah's, from start to finish, of that there couldn't be any doubt.

He did like the food, and the company, so he could ignore the pink.

Alexis had gone to a few weddings, but her father's friends usually had been married a few times so the church was out of the question and the reception... well, let's just say that everything was a little classier than this. Although usually they were also a lot drunker and with less guns.

At least everyone at her table seemed nice, although some of them were a bit strange, and no one really talked.

She smiled. "This certainly required a lot of work. It's very nice," she told Brian, politely.

Brian laughed. "Nice isn't the word I'd be using, but it's Savannah's perfect dream."

Alexis smiled back. "Food is great and at least we got off work early."

When the music began to play, she excused herself from the table. She wanted to dance with Tim, but they had spend the night sitting next to each other, so she decided to ask one other person before.

Alexis went to Spencer's table, smiling. "Hey, would you like to dance?" she asked, stretching her hand in his direction.

When Alexis approached Spencer smiled at her, giving a little wave, assuming she was probably just on her way past his table. Then she made her offer and Spencer glanced at Morgan like maybe he'd have all the answers.

He wasn't any help.

Dancing, he'd read books on dancing and he'd done it, once or twice, maybe. "Okay," Spencer said after a moment, because she was a sweet girl and saying no wouldn't be polite or friendly and he didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

He took her hand, shuffling a little awkwardly out onto the dance floor. "I'm not a very good dancer," Spencer admitted his hands hovering awkwardly by his side like he didn't know how to start, which was exactly right.

Tim liked weddings, it was good seeing people get hitched and it was even better knowing it was Savannah and she was getting what she wanted. He liked seeing his friends happy, and all things considered about this place she was his best friend. She deserved to be happy.

And now it was his turn, he'd talked with people at his table for a while and a few others when they'd finished eating and now people were dancing. He'd seen Alexis with that new guy for a while and waited until she looked like she was on her own again before he approached her.

"Havin' fun?" He asked her and then glanced at the area cleared for dancing. "Wanna give it a spin?" He asked with a quirk of his eyebrow and an easy grin.

Alexis had left Spencer with his friends and was walking around, looking at the dessert table when she heard Tim's voice and she immediately smiled at him.

"Yes, I am. I had this wonderful person at my table who kept me company and sounded completely normal," she teased, before nodding. "Sure, I'd love to."

She took his hand to walk with him. She was so glad that she had picked a short dress to wear. She felt more comfortable than having a long gown like she had worn at the prom. "Are we slow dancing or two-stepping?" she joked as they finally reached the dance floor and she put hands around his neck, because there was no way she would two step.

"Yeah someone here sounds normal?" Tim asked raising an eyebrow at her grinning. "You'll have to point 'em out to me sometime."

Tim laughed as he walked with Alexis to the dance floor. "How about we start with a slow dance." He suggested, even as she put her arms around his neck and he settled his hands easily on her hips. "We can work our way up to the two-step."

He liked dancing, and he liked having a pretty girl close, and he liked weddings. It was a good night all in all Tim thought. "So you do much dancing back home?" He asked her. "The last time I did any dancing like this," dancing that wasn't line dancing, "It was at my brother's wedding."

"Ohh, they can elope, I think it's very appropriate when guns are involved," she said, grinning.

"I don't know. If he's that controlling on their wedding day, he can only get worse, so it's much better for her if you arrest him now, and show her how much better she could do." And any man that tried to control his partner didn't deserve her as far as she was concerned.

Alexis shrugged. "I'm not uncomfortable, but again, I grew up in New York. There are all sorts of people, an it's just easier to tell guys what you will and won't do," she explained, before she smiled. "We don't have to just dance. Do you want to go for a walk? I need some air. It's not that this isn't nice, but it's always the same people. I just need a break, if you don't mind."

"Now that sounds perfect."

Tim chuckled, he seriously doubted there was anyone who could be like that with Savannah, he wasn't worried. "If he steps out of line I'll be sure to arrest him." He assured Alexis with a grin. But Savannah had chosen the guy, he supposed that had to count for something with him, even if Tim thought he was too old and strange.

"Alright then." Tim nodded, normally girls didn't go around telling you what they were interested in, you just kind of went with it and things ended up where they did, but like Alexis said she was from New York, they did things a little differently sure. "Yeah sure, I could do with some air too." He nodded, his hand moving easily to the small of her back as they headed out of the party together.

Parker and Spencer

Parker was still considering pink weddings versus black weddings as the night went on, she really did just need to go to more weddings and see for herself what they were like. Because she wasn't sure she was getting an accurate view of what weddings were like from either Savannah or Gemma, still it was interesting.

But what she wanted to do more than think about what weddings were supposed to be like, was to try this dancing thing everyone seemed to be doing. Eliot didn't seem to be up do it - not that she blamed him, and maybe she could have asked Neal or even John, but in the end she ended up approaching Spencer.

"Do you dance?" She asked him, as she stood beside him watching others dancing.

Dancing was actually the hardest thing he'd ever done. Which was surprising considering how it involved a lot of things he didn't like very much. But it wasn't so bad, a hand being held and a hand over clothes on a back, it was kind of like a less intimate hug that went for longer.

"I didn't until half an hour ago," Spencer said, smiling down at his blond friend. "But now I have been taught the very basic basics." Stepping out in front of her he offered Parker his hand, because that's just what you did. They weren't touchers, he could tell that she wasn't comfortable with it and he wasn't either but they'd spent so much time together recently, that holding her hand would be nice and he wasn't at all nervous about it.

"We can try, I'm quite bad," Reid said with a little smile.

Eliot was really the only person Parker make a habit of touching, and even then it wasn't much. She liked her space and she liked distance, but there were times when touching wasn't so bad. And when Spencer held out his hand Parker took it, with a small smile. "So now that you know the basics you can teach me." She decided.

"I saw you, you didn't look bad." Perhaps he didn't move quite as smoothly as some of the others did, but at least in her mind he didn't look as bad as Spencer seemed to be implying he was.

She took his other hand too once they'd moved on to the dance floor, because dancing seemed to imply holding hands and well Parker was ready to just go for it. "How does it work?"

Savannah was having a ball. Everything was perfect, and of course she got to dance and mingle, which was always a plus, even when it wasn't her wedding. She had made plans to dance with Tim as well, and with just about anyone willing to dance, but there was one man who was sitting quietly, a little too quietly.

She went to the table and sat on the seat that Parker had vacated. "Hi, Eliot," she said, gently. "Thank you for coming. I know it can't be easy." She couldn't imagine how he must feel. It would be bad for anyone, but for someone so self-reliant, it had to be horrible. "I opened your gift. It was perfect. Thank you." She hugged him with a hand, before sitting down again. "So how are you? You're doing okay? Do you need anything? I can take you to the dessert table, tell you what's there if you like."

Eliot turned in his chair to face her skeleton, sunglasses covering his eyes. "I heard you're looking mighty beautiful in your wedding dress. Though, I doubt its the dress making you shine."

All right, so he was laying the charm on a little thick, but this was her wedding and she deserved it. "To answer your questions, I'm doing good. My drink's been kept refilled, and I'm a bit too full for dessert. Who did your catering?"

Talking to people was nice and fun, but there was one person she kept going back to. She returned to their table, and put herself between Marty and Sam.

"Sorry," she said, sounding anything but. "Before the country and pop music start, I want a dance with my husband." She took Marty and nodded toward the dance floor with her head. "Let's go, before I have to find someone else to keep me company," she teased.

Marty had been enjoying himself, everything still feeling just a little surreal. He was married, Savannah was his wife, he was her husband. Husband and wife - god that was something he could honestly say he'd never thought would happen to him before he'd ended up here. And despite that, here he was and he couldn't imagine things being any different.

"Someone else to keep you company?" Marty tutted, patting Sam's shoulder on his way past as he and Savannah headed to the dance floor together. "We can't have that, now can we?" He grinned.

She was beautiful, Marty always heard those cliches and things when people got married - grooms unable to take their eyes off the bride, all of it had seemed like television romance, things that you made up to give unrealistic expectations of what marriages and weddings should be. But when he'd stood at the front of the church and Savannah had walked down the isle she had been all he could see. And it wasn't any different now.

"You're gorgeous." He told her, pulling her close. "How does it feel?" He asked her, "being a married woman, everything you hoped it would be?"
