RP: THE WEDDING
Who: Everyone (or Savannah will be very upset
Where: The base
When: September 9, 2011
Summary: the wedding

Savannah had spent the night at G, just like she had planned, and it didn't matter that they had until the afternoon to get ready, she was still up at the crack of dawn. Luckily for her, it wasn't like anyone in this house slept. Well, Sean did, but he was outnumbered. Even Brian stopped by early (although she wasn't sure if he had gone to sleep yet. He'd better or she'd kill him). He reassured that everything was fine, that he had everything under control. Even the weather seemed to be cooperating. After days of rain, the sun was out and it was already 71 degrees, a lot warmer than it ha been for days, and the high would be a perfect 80 degrees.

She did her hair, opting to pull it up so that it wouldn't interfere with the veil. The make up she kept simple as well. Finally, it was time to get married.

Tim liked weddings, it was good seeing people get hitched and it was even better knowing it was Savannah and she was getting what she wanted. He liked seeing his friends happy, and all things considered about this place she was his best friend. She deserved to be happy.

And now it was his turn, he'd talked with people at his table for a while and a few others when they'd finished eating and now people were dancing. He'd seen Alexis with that new guy for a while and waited until she looked like she was on her own again before he approached her.

"Havin' fun?" He asked her and then glanced at the area cleared for dancing. "Wanna give it a spin?" He asked with a quirk of his eyebrow and an easy grin.

Alexis had left Spencer with his friends and was walking around, looking at the dessert table when she heard Tim's voice and she immediately smiled at him.

"Yes, I am. I had this wonderful person at my table who kept me company and sounded completely normal," she teased, before nodding. "Sure, I'd love to."

She took his hand to walk with him. She was so glad that she had picked a short dress to wear. She felt more comfortable than having a long gown like she had worn at the prom. "Are we slow dancing or two-stepping?" she joked as they finally reached the dance floor and she put hands around his neck, because there was no way she would two step.

"Yeah someone here sounds normal?" Tim asked raising an eyebrow at her grinning. "You'll have to point 'em out to me sometime."

Tim laughed as he walked with Alexis to the dance floor. "How about we start with a slow dance." He suggested, even as she put her arms around his neck and he settled his hands easily on her hips. "We can work our way up to the two-step."

He liked dancing, and he liked having a pretty girl close, and he liked weddings. It was a good night all in all Tim thought. "So you do much dancing back home?" He asked her. "The last time I did any dancing like this," dancing that wasn't line dancing, "It was at my brother's wedding."

"I would, but I need a mirror," she answered, "although everyone has been pretty normal at our table. Well not everyone. Sheldon is normal, but he's another genius, like Spencer. I don't think they know how to do normal. There's also John and Brian; that's- It's really weird. He's my age and Brian is my dad's," she said with a shiver.

Alexis nodded. "That's a good place to start, especially because I forgot the cowboy boots at home." She chuckled. "I also would have no idea what to do, so you'd have to teach me. I'm a New Yorker."

This was very different than dancing with Spencer, it was normal, and it reminded of home. "I did. Some slow, some fast, we went to clubs with my friends, and parties. The usual. When did your brother get married?"

"Yeah they weren't bad, I'm pretty impressed to tell you the truth." Especially considering the people who were all a part of the team, sure some of them were a little weird and they'd rather talk about classes than a perfectly good wedding, but besides that they all seemed mostly normal. And that was about as much as Tim could hope to expect from most of them. "Yeah that's-" Tim shook his head, he still didn't really get the whole gay thing, even more so when Alexis put it in that light. "I don't think about it too much."

Chuckling, Tim shook his head. "Don't you worry the two-step is easy and you can even manage it without the boots, even if they help." He told her with a wink. "There are only two steps after all, smart girl like you should be able to pick it up no problem."

"He got married a few years ago now," Tim told her, surprised it had really been so long all ready. But with jail and then being here as long as he had time had a way of passing. The twins would have been around for a while too, it made him a little sick thinking about missing all that. Family had been the one thing Tim stuck around for, the most important thing and he was missing it. "I didn't do many parties after I finished with school, so it was just dancing at the bar." He told her.

Alexis laughed. "You're impressed that they were normal. I'm not sure what kind of parties you've had around here if that's your reaction. How bad were they? You can tell me. I'm strong; I can take it." She just didn't get it. She knew love was blind and age was a number, but there were limits even to that. "Maybe I should adopt your policy, because it's very strange and I grew up in New York where nothing fazes us."

She shook her head, smiling. "Why a I not surprised that you'd say something like that? You can teach me if you want, and I promise to pay close attention to both steps and repeat them in the proper fashion. How's that."

She glared at him, studying Tim as she thought it over. Something made no sense here. "I'd have thought that someone like you would have been invited to plenty of parties and by that I mean, someone that looks-" She waved a hand in his direction. "You don't even need to be popular. Things must be really different in Texas."

"Have you met the people we work with?" Tim asked Alexis with a grin, he thought being impressed at their ability to be normal for a change was, well, only normal. "They're just weird, a lot of like to talk about their guns all the time, and they'd rather get shot at then play football, and they act like they don't speak English half the time." He shook his head, they were a mess and it didn't matter how long he'd been there, he still didn't get it. "Probably best, otherwise you'll spend all your time trying to figure it out and some things are just better left a mystery."

"Because I'm amazing and charming?" He suggested when she smiled. "I'll teach you, Savannah is bound to have made sure to have gotten some good music for this, it'll be great." He promised.

"What?" He asked while she looked at him, like she was trying to figure him out. And then huffed a short breath of laughter when she waved a hand at him. "I got invited to parties, the high school ones, they didn't really feel quite right after I was done, and a lot of people all went away to school." He shrugged. "Things are really different in Texas."

"I've had the questionable pleasure. I'm even in class with two of them, although they are New Yorkers. That makes them slightly better, and they don't talk about guns." She looked at him from the corner of her eyes. "I thought everyone in Texas loved their guns. I'm pretty sure you told me that. How is it different from them talking about their guns." She chuckled. "Not English, huh? I'll have to see what language they speak and maybe we can find a dictionary."

Alexis nodded. "Oh yes, I forgot for a moment. So very sorry. All right, I'll try it, but since I don't have cowboy boots, I'll just have to take my shoes off."

She shrugged. "Still, a few years is a long time not to have danced, even if some of your friends went to college. Texas can't be that different. Unless all the girls are blind there."

"It's really those California types you have to look out for, but even the New Yorkers are a little strange sometime." He told her with a wink. And he chuckled when she mentioned the guns and Texas. "See the thing about Texans and their guns, we like shotguns, we keep 'em in the backs of our trucks, and over the fire place. We don't go around hiding them under our clothes, and they're not like the guns these guys use." He explained, and their guns were for hunting, they weren't usually for using on other people. "Well they say they're speaking English, I don't believe it though."

"One of these days we'll get you a good pair of boots so you can do the two step the way it was meant to be danced." He promised her. "They really do help, until then I'll to my best not to step on your feet."

He hadn't really meant to get into this place, where he'd have to explain the time between high school and ending up there. All that time when he probably would have been dancing and doing all those normal things people did, that he'd missed out on because he'd been in jail. "Well I danced some, just not at a big occasion like this, s'what I meant." He explained. "As far as I know the girls aren't blind, but I never asked, so I suppose it's possible." He grinned, ready to move past this part of the conversation. Derek was still the only person he'd told, he wasn't ready to tell anyone else about that - he wasn't sure he'd ever be ready for that.

"I'll have to agree with you about the Californians. They are all strange. New Yorkers... who am I kidding? We're strange too," she said, laughing. "We're just less strange than them." She listened and nodded. "I see. So Texans just have them. These guys make love to them. Got it." She chuckled. "We'll see what they speak."

Alexis chuckled. "You've got a deal. Now we just have to wait for the appropriate music and then you can show off."

She nodded, because that was understandable. You didn't go to weddings everyday. It just sounded different the first time he had said it, but maybe it was that different English thing again. "You get to dance tonight, although there aren't that many options, are there?" She grinned. "I guess you're stuck with me, teaching me to two step."

"See finally someone agreeing with me, everyone here is strange." Tim laughed, even if Alexis was only teasing him. Tim chuckled. "I suppose you might be less strange than them, jury's still out on the rest of 'em." He told her, before he snorted with laughter and nodded. "That is a really good way to put it, it's like they're married to the guns, it's just weird."

Tim tipped an invisible hat at her and nodded. "Don't worry, I'll be waitin' for it, to show you the moves."

"I'm planning on stealing a dance with the bride at some point, just don't tell her husband." He told Alexis grinning, he figured he could get away with one dance before the night was over, mostly he just wanted to dance a two step with someone who had to know what they were doing. "Stuck with you? I hate to break it to ya, Red, but it's not exactly a hardship dancin' with you. If anything I'd say you're stuck with me, since as you pointed out I don't have many options now do I?"

"We'll have to correct the people who don't understand your genius, that's all," she said, chuckling. "I always knew that I was normal. I live with my dad and grans. That's more than enough to tell me." She giggled when he went on. "Married to the guns. We should tell them and see what they say."

Alexis gasped. "Steal a dance. How dare you?" she asked, before smiling. "I'm sure she'll love it. She's nice and friendly." She wasn't sure about Deeks, but then she knew men could be really strange with their jealousy. "It's not a hardship for me either. I don't have many options either since they are all married to their guns, and... I'm not blind either," she added, not sure where this was coming from. Maybe the fact that she already knew that she'd never be with Ashley again, but she tried not to think about it again. "I like to dance with you."

Tim laughed easily, it was nice having someone else around who could talk like a normal person. He was starting to think it would only be Savannah, which wouldn't have been terrible - it was just nice was all. "I think they'd probably agree." Tim suspected, they seemed like the sort of people who would be only too happy with the idea of being married to guns, especially Hanna.

"I know right? It's a good thing I'm an agent, I've got all sorts of training I can use to make sure it goes alright." He chuckled, plus he didn't think it would be too difficult all in all. The groom didn't really look like the kind of guy who knew how to really dance.

"I'm not blind either." Really really not blind as a matter of fact. Tim grinned, "So I guess that settles it then, you like dancing with me and I like dancing with you. We're good."

She wasn't sure that they would like it at all, but nodded all the same. They wouldn't know for sure unless they asked, and she didn't want to. "I don't need to know so badly. Maybe we should just avoid them and save ourselves the trouble."

Alexis nodded. "It's a very good thing. You can arrest him if he tries to stop you," she said, chuckling.

She stared at him for a moment. "Dancing is good, but I don't... I don't sleep with guys, not people I've just met. I know some girls do, but I'd like to make sure you know." She smiled. "And maybe you don't say these things in Texas, but this is New York, and it's much easier to let people know in advance." Not that she'd told that part to her father. It was much easier if he thought that she didn't even know the word 'sex'.

"I suppose we could do that, just let them be married to their guns in private." Tim agreed, he didn't need to get involved with anyone affair with their handgun after all.

He laughed out loud when she said he could arrest Deeks if he tried to stop Tim from dancing with Savannah. "That would go over real well, arresting the groom on his wedding night at the reception because he won't let me dance with his wife?" He grinned. "Still I'll keep that option in mind if I have to."

Tim raised an eyebrow at her when she told him she didn't sleep with people she just met. "Well I was just talking about dancing, but we can get that all out of the way now if you want." He told her with a grin. "I don't want you to feel uncomfortable." Oh he might be interested, after months of being here a real normal girl was bound to catch his interest, and Alexis happened to be funny and easy to talk to as well. All points in her favor. "So we'll stick to dancing."

"Ohh, they can elope, I think it's very appropriate when guns are involved," she said, grinning.

"I don't know. If he's that controlling on their wedding day, he can only get worse, so it's much better for her if you arrest him now, and show her how much better she could do." And any man that tried to control his partner didn't deserve her as far as she was concerned.

Alexis shrugged. "I'm not uncomfortable, but again, I grew up in New York. There are all sorts of people, an it's just easier to tell guys what you will and won't do," she explained, before she smiled. "We don't have to just dance. Do you want to go for a walk? I need some air. It's not that this isn't nice, but it's always the same people. I just need a break, if you don't mind."

"Now that sounds perfect."

Tim chuckled, he seriously doubted there was anyone who could be like that with Savannah, he wasn't worried. "If he steps out of line I'll be sure to arrest him." He assured Alexis with a grin. But Savannah had chosen the guy, he supposed that had to count for something with him, even if Tim thought he was too old and strange.

"Alright then." Tim nodded, normally girls didn't go around telling you what they were interested in, you just kind of went with it and things ended up where they did, but like Alexis said she was from New York, they did things a little differently sure. "Yeah sure, I could do with some air too." He nodded, his hand moving easily to the small of her back as they headed out of the party together.
