Thunder is good, thunder is impressive
Characters: Billy Kaplan, Jasper Sitwell
Setting: Sphere, SHIELD, interrogation room
Content: Language?
Summary: Billy Kaplan discovers he has powers
Billy was just your average teenager. Obsessed with the Avengers, awkward, overbearing parents, annoying little brothers. Completely average. At least...he had been. Ever since they'd evacuated Earth things had been...different. More different than just living on a giant sphere around the sun. First- Billy's family not only were no where to be found, but no one who knew them could be found, no one to vouch for his existence at all. He wasn't entirely alone in that at least. Lots of people had been separated in the chaos. SHIELD, being the the first at least some what organized people in the start of all this had been tasked with dealing with all these broken families. The interviews had been quick, there was a lot to deal with, and pretty much no one had id or anything like that. They made up a file for him, found him a home, and that was that.
Over time there were reunions, families found each other, neighbors, friends, but no one from Billy's life surfaced, and as the months went by he had to resign himself to the fact that they probably hadn't made it onto one of the ships.
That could have been the end of the story if it wasn't for John Kessler. The guy'd had it out for Billy from the start, and none of Billy's tactics had enabled him to avoid Kessler and his friends for long. He wasn't the only kid in the world to get bullied, that wasn't enough to make him different, but the reaction it had sparked in him that particular day finally outed Billy as not so usual after all.
He hadn't meant to hurt him. He'd just sort of...lashed out. With lightning. Somehow. Which had led to him being stuck inside an integration room, probably going to be locked up for the rest of his life or sentenced to death or- at the very least have a bright light shone in his eyes.
