But I'm trying to hope with nothing to hope.
Characters: Wanda, Tony, Alternate!Tony
Setting: Wanda's loft
Content: Nothing questionable that I'm aware of
Summary: Tony finds Wanda's not-so-secret hide out, meanwhile the time machine stirs and someone unexpected steps out
The knocking at Wanda's front door had to be the Chinese delivery guy, so she got up off the couch and went for the cash hidden in the bookshelf. The first thing she'd done when she got to her loft was drain all her bank accounts before they could be cut off. She put most of her assets into the account under the same alias this loft was under, and kept cash to stash around the place. That came in handy for her late night grocery shopping trips that she went on in disguise, and all the takeout she ordered. There were a few restaurants nearby with whom she had a standing arrangement; Wanda slipped the money under the front door and they left the food in the hallway. Usually she paid in big bills and didn't ask for change, so no one had tried to question her yet. Her need for anonymity was not, Wanda figured, the strangest thing these delivery people had to deal with on a daily basis.
When she had her cash in hand she scrawled out her customary note to wrap it up in- Leave the food. No change. Thanks!- and pushed it under the door. Now she just had to wait for a few minutes to be sure they were gone. She peeked through the peep hole and sighed. This was not the Chinese delivery guy. Why in the world didn't she look first? Especially when she should have been expecting him, was expecting him eventually. He was, after all, the only other person in the city who knew what this place was and that she might be here. At first she'd been waiting for this knock every day (or for the door to be broken down and the place to be swarming with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, whichever happened first). Wanda's routine had lulled her into a false sense of security, she supposed.
It was too late now to pretend that she wasn't here, not after she'd just slipped him cash (and he didn't even have the decency to be her delivery guy). Anyway, he had a key so pretending would have been moot regardless. Another look showed her he was apparently alone, so she unlocked the deadbolt and chain to let him in, wondering if she ought to put on pants first. If it were anyone else in the world, she probably would have, but it was just Tony.
