After checking their mail and noting that one envelope was addressed to her, Rachel opened it and skimmed the contents as she climbed upstairs to her and Tina's apartment. Her skills at quick reading comprehension meant that by the time she opened the door to their apartment, she was furious.

"Did you know that Student Life can belatedly enforce disciplinary action months after an offense that wasn't on school properly and has no bearing on my student life whatsoever?" she announced, clearly affronted, and put her hands on her hips. Hadn't she been through enough guilt and self-inflicted punishment of her own already? She hadn't even technically had anything to drink when she'd gotten kicked out of that stupid bar Noah had thrown the party at, anyway. It was all so unfair.

The semester had barely started and Santana was already back to spending Saturday nights in doing homework. Her junior year was already shaping up to be much harder than the last, so she found herself cutting back on work and increasing the amount of time she spent at home and in the practice rooms at school.

After an hour and a half of reading, she sighed and set her textbook on the ground, turning so she was lying down the full length of the couch. She closed her eyes, feeling more than ready for a break from reading.

Santana, through sheer force of personality alone, has managed to claim a decent-sized flat area in Central Park, close to Columbus Circle. Everyone is invited. Just keep in mind that if your character has decided to bring booze, it needs to be camouflaged.

The last NYADA performance was coming up in a week and Puck had pretty much given up on putting all that much effort into his last one. He hadn't been doing very well during the whole summer session and didn't see the point in trying to pull it out for the last performance. It had still been fun, so whatever. It gave him time to focus on helping Mercedes out with her stuff, just like he'd promised.

Puck had been surprised by how much he'd enjoyed helping out. It was kind of cool, actually. Like it was still related to the marketing stuff that he learned for his major, but it was also about fun stuff he was more interested in than stocks and portfolios and companies and stuff.

He got to the classroom they'd agreed to meet in, actually on time for once. "Hey, how's it going?"

Santana had lucked out; even though she'd just taken a bunch of days off from work, she didn't have to go in the next night she was back. In order to celebrate, she had corralled her roommates and convinced Quinn, with Mercedes' help, to take the train uptown. Their vacation had been fun, but Santana wanted a nostalgic evening.

After they got off the train, it was a short walk to Amy Ruth's, one of her favorite places in this neighborhood. Even though she'd grown up in Washington Heights, she'd gone to high school in Harlem and would come here with friends sometimes. Santana glanced over at Quinn to make sure she was dealing with the culture shock okay as the three of them walked.

It was their last night at Fire Island, and overall Quinn thought the vacation had been a success. The house was awesome, super close to the beach, and despite the unplanned for additional guests, the place hadn't been too hectic and crowded.

Taking her drink out onto the patio, Quinn looked over the deck out at the beach. It reminded her of home a bit, but way less uptight than La Jolla. She had gathered that Fire Island was a party kind of place, and for the Fourth of July weekend that suited her just fine.

Catching sight of someone out of the corner of her eye, she turned and smiled, realizing it was Mercedes. "I'm so not ready to go back to the city tomorrow, are you?"
