The last couple of days had been rough on Sirius. Since the Marker appeared, he'd felt out of sorts. It smelled all kinds of wrong, and when the pulse went out? He'd felt like he was going stark raving mad. Voices had swirled inside his head, bouncing from one end to the other and he'd lost all sense of what was truly going on. It'd been luck that he'd landed in a new home, and he'd kept to himself, locked away in his bathroom trying to hold on to the little bit of sanity he had left.
It'd done no good to change into Padfoot either, that had only made things worse, so Sirius dealt with it though it'd been hard.
The Marker had been gone two days, and Sirius felt like he could breathe again. His apartment was a sodding mess from the earlier outbursts he'd had, so he took a few moments to cast some cleaning spells to set it right. Food was low, and honestly he wasn't sure when any more would be delivered. It took him a bit, but he finally managed to find the flimsy plastic card, and with a few quick swipes on the mobile he found how much he had left. It was enough to get him some food to last the next few days at least, and so he showered and dressed before heading to the nearest grocery store.
Elevator music played softly over the speakers, the registers beeped with each barcode that was scanned and the scent of freshly baked bread greeted him the moment he walked in. It was as if nothing had happened, although there was still evidence of the creatures everywhere one looked outside. Sirius combed his fingers through his hair, and let out a long sigh.
It was okay, he was going to be bloody alright.
Rolling his shoulders he found himself a trolley and started down the aisle. Sirius picked up some produce, contrary to popular belief he did enjoy them from time to time, and headed on his way. His next stop was the bakery, and he stood there eyeballing the sweets. He reached forward to pick up a container of brownies when his hand bumped against someone else's who was reaching for the same thing. Sirius let out another sigh, "Go on then, it's not like I really need them anyway." He chuckled, finally turning his head to look at the other person.
