IC/OOC Event: The First Arrivals
Comment below if you'd like to plot with others what your characters did during this pre-game timeline. Remember each plot is one week in character. Out of character this would be the equivalent of two months of plot.
Characters from The Good Place might find it not too unlike Janet's void. Characters with a programming background might think of it more like a computer simulation where the surroundings have yet to be rendered. How your character views the void is up to you.
The week starts anew. Your character wakes up in their assigned bed, in the same physical state and clothing they first arrived in. Any damage to the university is undone. Food stuffs are restored. The grassy field at the center of the campus is back down to its previous height.
The Void is gone. Instead the campus is contained within a well maintained habitat, inside an enormous alien vessel. Though the idea of being trapped on an alien spaceship with a human menagerie (a zoo, really) would be terrifying and oppressive, the humans (zoomans?) here seem to be extremely well cared for. Everyone is fed, sheltered, and the culture they've created is loving, open and honest. Perhaps a little too open and loving. It's a literal paradise, though the presence of visitors might be slightly upsetting to the happy inhabitants. After all, most of them have never experienced jealousy, selfishness, anger, or fear. Thankfully the week long stay isn't quite long enough to upset things among the zoomans too much. ...Maybe. Click here for a short clip of life inside the strange paradise.
The week starts anew. Your character wakes up in their assigned bed, in the same physical state and clothing they first arrived in. The entire University Campus is seemingly set back in place. Food stuffs are restored. The grassy field at the center of the campus is back down to its previous height.
The campus has returned to the void for a seemingly quiet week. The first day was unremarkable normal, until you went to sleep. When you woke up the next day, you're seven years older. Okay, not terrible, perhaps not even that noticeable in some of you. Except the next day, the same thing happened: seven years older. The days add up quickly, and some of you that weren't in your twenties started to wonder grimly if you would make it to the end of the week. Characters that tried to circumvent the seven years of aging by staying up and refusing to sleep, failed. Even if your eyes drift for just a moment, by the time they open you will be older. Things looking bleak? Thankfully by the start of the next week you were all your normal selves again.
This time the university has landed in a meadow, not far from London. We hope your character has read at least one Jane Austen novel. Period appropriate clothing appeared in your closets (though some of you may have struggled with getting things on properly, not to mention hairstyles). Everyone was given a small amount of money for souvenirs that would remain with them in future weeks of the trip. Did you fake your way to some afternoon tea? Hunting parties? Suffer through a young lady's accomplishments? Or were you more interested in purchasing medicinal cocaine in the city? There were some late night gambling to be had (for the men) and there was a lot of drinking to be had (the alcohol was safer than water).
Please enjoy Regency House Party if you're looking for ideas/information about the period.
