Hoth | Day 7
I can't believe I just got hit in the face with a paper airplane. You know that could put an eye out.

Anyway, I'm Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III.

If I didn't know better I'd think this was the Frostfell. It has to be just as cold as it at any rate. Please tell me it's not always this frigid.

The memoir he's working on seems promising at least.

I think you've coined the campus's new motto; Derleth University: it's not always very reliable.

That seems like a massive understatement of a motto.

I'd say welcome, but it seems inappropriate as far as word choices go. May your stay here be as short as you hoped for.

I would hate to leave my friends down one in a fight against an ancient white dragon. So gods willing it'll be a very short stay.

Thankfully your friends won't notice your disappearance. When you return home it'll be as though you never left, and from what we've been told, you won't remember what happened here while you're there unless you get pulled back here again.

Surely time keeps moving there while I'm here though. It would just be undone by my return?

Time does not always pass equally on different planes of existence. It gets particularly challenging when the difference in time between two worlds is inconsistent, but I digress.

If time is passing on your world, from here, it's passing so slowly there's no way meaningfully measure it.

Interesting. It's almost like being in the Feywild rather than a parallel Material plane. Although even the time passage between the Feywild and the Material plane isn't that significant.

And because we reset each week to how we arrived, no matter how long any of us are here we won't meaningfully age or appear any different when we're sent home.

Well it's a lot less delightful than visiting the Feywild.

Maybe I've spent too much time in Fillory, or due to being deposed from my throne by a hostile fairy takeover, Feywild doesn't sound even remotely delightful to me.

I guess fairies are dicks in every realm.

Ah, that brings me to something else: fairies where you're from may be different than fairies on other realms. Same with vampires, werewolves, elves probably?

Humans are consistent, although there are plenty of individuals enhanced with science here, and different time periods, cultures, technology... Some have never encountered magic before so that's special for them.

Judging by this device I've been using to communicate on the network, I'd say there's much more advanced technology here than I am used to.

Different calendar in Exandria. That doesn't mean anything to me.

The majority of the humans here are from versions of a world called Earth where it is the 21st century and the device you hold in your hand is fairly common place. From there it's pretty much a bell curve between those who are from worlds with more or less advanced technology.

Interesting that the same races appear on other worlds, across multiple universes. As well as races that don't even exist in Exandria.
