Season six tidbits

FX Networks president/general manager John Landgraf said he believed the channel had several more years of "Rescue Me" and "Nip/Tuck" in its future. (But does Ryan?)

"We do feel some pressure to replace 'The Shield,' but we have at least three years to replace 'Rescue Me' and 'Nip/Tuck,'" he said.

On the upcoming sixth season of "Nip/Tuck," Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica") will play Dr. Theodora "Teddy" Lowe, a new doctor who challenges Sean (Dylan Walsh). She will appear in four episodes.

Also set to appear in the FX drama is Morgan Fairchild, who will play a movie star in one episode.

Zap2It article on Season Five

'Nip/Tuck' Sweeps into Fifth Season
FX debuts rebuilt show just before November sweeps

Fittingly for a show that's now set in Tinseltown, "Nip/Tuck" will unveil its new season at the dawn of November sweeps.

FX's twisted plastic-surgery drama will begin its fifth season on Tuesday, Oct. 30, two days before the opening of November sweeps. The new season will consist of 14 episodes, which, depending on whether FX takes a break for Christmas and New Year's, could stretch into the February sweeps period.

The show has switched locales for the new season, which follows Drs. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) as they try to import their Miami cosmetic-surgery practice to Los Angeles, where they find the market for their services much more crowded. Creator Ryan Murphy has said that several of the show's other regulars, including Joely Richardson, Roma Maffia, John Hensley and Kelly Carlson, will also eventually make their way west.

Minor plotline spoilers. )

This contradicts other reports of an October 23 start date and a 22 episode season, alas.

Behind the scenes with Rosie

Rosie O'Donnell has two video clips on her blog about Nip/Tuck. She talks to some of the crew (hair and makeup, assistant director) and to Nurse Linda, who apparently also does medical consulting for Grey's Anatomy. There are some plotline spoilers in the clips.

Spoilery details. )

In another entry, she comments that "oliver platt is fantastic" and "julian and dylan / charming as ever / stunning to look at / they make me smile."

"I don't think the show is kinky enough!"

That was Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon waking up the crowd Thursday morning at the Summer Television Critics Association Tour. TVGuide.com: Nip/Tuck Sews Up Bradley Cooper

Nip/Tuck Sews Up Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper is getting a little Nip/Tuck.

A source close to the FX drama confirms that the Alias hottie has signed on for a five-episode arc to air during the show's upcoming fifth season.

Details about his character are being kept extremely hush-hush — my spy hints "to say anything would be to give away the surprise." What I can tell you is that Cooper will not be a love interest for anyone, male or female.
