Who: Barbara, Open to Bruce and Dick atm
What: The Joker Escapes Arkham alert
When: Backdated to June 10 after the escape
Where: Babs' hotel room and elsewhere.
Rating: Medium-high? Responses to the Joker is the only reason
Barbara was starting to wonder how international business people did it. Living in a hotel day after day... It was impersonal, it was... It wasn't home. Maybe that was the part that was getting to Cho the most. To finally have a home only to have it infiltrated and basically destroyed? There was still a lot of work left before the Tower was back up to specs. Well... more than up to specs. The new security protocols she had would need some additional work... maybe she'd call Wally.
All the same, it didn't matter where she was, Gotham didn't sleep. She was in the process of tracking an Intergang package, on the way in to the port on its way to Metropolis when the alarms started going off. At first, Barbara thought that it was the Soldier; she'd set up a special alert when anything related to him made its way through her software, but that only lasted a second. The alarm's tone was wrong; too high pitched, to insistent. She'd set the sound to this one so there'd never be any question as to what it was... who it was.
For a moment, Barbara just froze, her eyes on the report that popped onto the screen.
She should have known. He had been too quiet for too long; seemingly getting on with the doctors at Arkham. Keeping too close to a routine. The cameras she had on his cell, the ones that were always recording on a separate drive in the basement - one dedicated SOLELY to him - would show what happened; hacking Arkham may have been viewed as wrong, but Barbara didn't give two shits.
"Fuck!" Her fingers flew over the keys trying to pull up whatever information was available. There was no video feed yet, she needed to access the other drive at the Tower, that would take a few minutes. There was a knot in Barbara's chest. What did it say about them that the Joker kept getting out; that he kept running amuck around Gotham but all they could do was lock him up again?! How many times had they played this same song, done the same dance?! ...dance. That was funny...
She closed her eyes and took a breath. There weren't many people who she would like to see get a bullet between the eyes, but the Joker... he was at the top of that list. And it wasn't just for what he'd done to her, but what he'd done to Jason. But as a Bat that wasn't in the rulebook... She could feel her nails digging into the skin of her palm as her hands tightened into a fist, but her mind was clear. She brought her other hand up to her earpiece, opening up a secured line to Bruce and Dick.
"Batman, Nightwing? It's Oracle. I hope you two are reading me. We have a situation: The asylum just pressed their panic button. Joker's escaped from Arkham."
