Scott loved living with Avery. It was different than living at home, of course. He had to clean and help take care of stuff, but he was committed to it. He did dishes and vacuumed and cleaned the bathroom and he picked up after himself and he did his own laundry in the basement laundry machines. His mother would be so proud of him! There was the camaraderie too. Yeah, Avery could be a little prickly, but Scott quickly realised when he was like that, just to give the other man space. It was worth it to learn the signs, because when Avery wasn't prickly, they had a great time. They went clubbing on occasion, they watched Netflix, they talked about urban legends, and they gamed together. It was so good.

It made him not miss Sophie as much.

Scott was busy playing killer on Dead by Daylight - he usually mained Pyramid Head - when Avery came home. "Hey!" Scott called out to him. "Almost done with this round and totally about to get a 4K! How was your day?"

	Scott wasn't actually competitive these days, so he just laughed at Avery when he said he would kick his ass. Maybe he would! "Sure!" "Fuckin creepy," Avery agreed, and the two of them settled in for a good hour or so of gaming, checking back every now and then to check if the PS5 was done updating.

Eventually, Avery grinned and nodded to Scott. "Finally! Lets get into this! Lets get on the store and find something to download! I wanna see Horizon Forbidden West with these graphics, it's gonna go off!"

	"Oh sure, we could play that!" he said as he pushed start on the microwave. Then he headed into his room to grab his gummis and he headed back out. 	"Cheers," Avery replied, following Scott's example. He did need to be focused enough to play the game and not lose himself in the graphics. "Well we need to pick one thing to start with. Two player. Once their characters were ready, and set out on the road, Scott settled in to play. The opening story was long, but the first little fight with Lilith was great because they got to do it together. Then they were in the game, exploring and laughing as they plowed through enemies.

And then there was a knock on the door, and Scott paused it. "Did you invite someone?" he asked, excited. The more the merrier.

	"Oh. Could be," Avery looked down at the food with a little smirk at he took it, his fingers deliberately brushing against Gray's. Gray smirked and he went to sit between Avery and Scott, and he sort of looped his arm around Avery. "What are you playing?" he asked as he pulled a container out of the bag which had spring rolls in it. "Sorry, what was your name again?"

"Scott," Scott said, since he didn't want Gray to call him his nickname. He didn't know why he was so bothered by Gray, but he kind of was.

"Help yourself, Scott," he said, though Scott stuck to the popcorn.

"Diablo IV. It's this fun, like, dungeon crawler game, we were just checking it out." Avery's whole demeanour had changed, now that he had someone he wanted to impress. The silly little game was just whatever, when he had adult things to do with another adult. "What made you come over here, with spring rolls?" He took one and bit the end off it, realising just how phallic that looked as he was doing it so he didn't have a chance to make it look extra sexy.

"Yeah, you," Gray laughed, and he reached down to sort of squeeze Avery's pec. "And I'm sure you can imagine what kind of fun. Though if you would rather play this game I don't mind. I can watch instead." He actually did mean it, he wasn't being a dick. Even so, Scott had to actively work on not rolling his eyes.

"How magnanimous," he said, glaring at the screen and refusing to watch the man paw at his housemate.

	Yeah he wasn't going to be able to focus on the game when Gray was sitting right there. The edible was making him feel pretty good about being touched. "Where d'you wanna go?" he asked. 	Gray didn't get self conscious at all, so he was just fine going to Avery's room. "Your room?" he suggested, smiling widely at Avery. "It's real nice to see you, Red. You want to eat first? "After it is," Gray said, finishing off his spring roll. He rose from the sofa and extended his hand to Avery, grinning wickedly. "Hey, Steve, have as much of the food as you want, okay?"

"It's Scott," Scott grumbled. He wasn't about to touch their goddamn sex food. He had been looking forward to an entire night of gaming and now this. That was all this was. Right? Right.

	Avery took Gray's hand and followed him in without a backwards glance, shutting the door behind him with a thud. He didn't think about Scott having to endure the thumps and creaks that indicated physical activity in Avery's old bed, because Grey was smiling at him and drawing him in for a kiss, and Avery wasn't going to say no to that.
