What an amazing response!

George sat staring at the notes she'd taken that night with Dr Kuo, going over a number of the things he's said in her head, making sure she had a good grasp on the information and of course his intonations as he'd said them. Intonation and his body language was so important.

She'd learnt over the years that watching someone as they spoke was even more important than the words they said. Intonation and good old fashioned body language would reveal more about a person's real thoughts and plans than the actual words, or at least give a good indication of whether they were telling the truth, or trying to hide something. Building a level of comfort with an interview candidate was also important, helping them feel comfortable and secure enough to give the information freely and honestly.

She sighed happily as she finally put the notes aside, slipping them into a folder with the doctor's name on it, ready for easy finding later. She pulled her diary towards her and flipped it open, scanning the entries in it for the next few days. She wondered whether she should have spread them out a little more but decided it was best to strike while the iron was hot, and with the numbers of people who were coming out of the woodwork to talk she was sure that the iron was well and truly hot!

It was only as she was running her finger down the list of appointments that she realised something else. She flicked the screen on, glancing back at the appointments and what she'd written down as the flatscreen came to life. Into the journal and scrolling and yes, there it was. Jeff Novak. She'd only written his name down as Jeff when first filling out her planner, but it was another situation where the spouse of someone who'd offered to talk with her had also done the same. She leaned back in her chair and smiled to herself, nodding slowly. Getting the story from both sides of the coin was going to be a great benefit and she reached over and flicked off the screen again.

Now, to sleep, given that she had a very busy day scheduled ahead of her!

You don't need to be on the save wavelength to succeed in marriage. You just need to be able to ride each other's waves. )

Subject: Questions and thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for agreeing to answer these questions. I hope you understand that as I won't be hearing your answers to them before I ask the next one there may be some that are repetitve, or you have already answered in earlier ones. Also, again, any information you provide will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, it's purely for research into the affects of the marriage lottery system and how it's affecting the individuals and the family structure.

That said, here are the basic ones, and we will take it from here, if you are happy to continue after this. Again, thank you for participating and I look forward to your input.

Questions

How old are you?

Is this your first marriage?

Is this your spouse's first marriage?

What is the age difference between you and your spouse?

Had you ever considered, or been in a position to consider marriage before?

Are you and your spouse compatible? (by this I mean do you have things in common, shared interests, a foundation for a future)

What was your concept of marriage before the lottery system was brought in?

Has this changed since it's introduction?

Has it changed since being drawn and paired?

What do you believe is the purpose of the government in legislating to have the lottery an act of congress?

Would you have married of your own choice if given the opportunity?

Would you describe your childhood as 'happy'?

How would you describe your parent's marriage?

I will leave the first round as these, and I hope I haven't scared you off! Please feel free to say as much as you would like.

I look forward to hearing from you soon,

gratefully,

Georgina Lincoln
