Scrimmy takes her seat and leans over to look at the pictures. "Huh, ye know I don't think I've ever seen what pictures they've been using for ours. Should ask Da, because my old reserve one is outta date." She leans back in her seat, rests a foot on her knee and surveys the stadium. Well if a day at the match with beer didn't help make you feel better, what else would?

"Well, I know for a fact mine's new, for obvious reasons. It'd make sense to do new ones at the start of the season when they do the new kits... that's what they used to do with all the French league teams," Alasdair explained, finally finding the page he was looking for, smiling at the page. As well as her squad photo, there was an action shot from when Ada played against the Harpies. His bride to be was looking good. "Come to think of it, I've probably got the programme from that Falcons match I sat out somewhere in here..." he added, putting down the day's programme in his lap to rummage in his bag.

They were both here to enjoy Quidditch with a beer and a friend, but Alasdair did enjoy the patterns in the statistics as well. You can take the boy out of Ravenclaw...

"Wait, ye carry the programmes around?!" Nerd. She had to grin at him for that, and redid the warming charm on her jacket as she waited for him to find it. "Hey, when do ye think yer gonna face her in a match this season?" Because from what Scrimmy remembered, Ada was doing well by teh hoops so playing her felt like an inevitability. Why waste a great reserve in a long season?

"Only to matches where I might want to make note of stats," Alasdair replied with a dignified tone, removing a shrunken programme from his bag before expanding it again with his wand. "I mean, this isn't the strongest of matches, but it'll still be worth looking at Montrose strategies before the Neep."

Alasdair chuckled at the question. "Depends on how the Neep goes. I still think they'll play Savage as much as possible... I mean, he's the bloody Captain, right? But if match three ends up a dead rubber, they'll play her and other reserves for sure. Match time AND to mess with us - or try to, anyway." It was an amateurish move to assume it would work with little evidence, which didn't in itself seem like it would work. "Playoffs? Who knows. That's a harder call."

He looked at her, his curiosity in his face as well as voice. "Speaking of the future Mrs Buchanan, there's something I need to ask..."

"Yeah maybe they try something new that they'll use against us later...but ye know...a better version of it." Scrimmy shrugged and slouched in her seat as she sipped her beer and looked around at the black and orange around the stadium. "Montrose is weird, they've put their captain on the bench a lot more than most teams. I mean good fer yer fiance, more time to play, but then yer playing without a captain. Dun think we've done that even once."

Scrimmy glanced over mid beer sip. "Hm?"

"Asides from those matches where Oighrig and Lorna got knocked down, no, we haven't. And that's not even close to the same as starting your Captain's reserve through choice, not injury," he mused, thumbing through the programme briefly before re-shrinking it and replacing it in his bag. "And you know, in France we played under European rules, so we played with substitutes more often than happens here. Ada's good anyway, of course, but given she got extra flying time under substitution rules, she's got as much experience as quite a few BIQ starters."

"Well, we've started planning the wedding. Nothing massive yet, but pinning down stuff we want to do... which includes picking members of the wedding party," he began, taking a sip of his own beer.

"The euro leagues sound interesting. I like ours best but wouldn't be bad to see more of the others." She squinted out at the pre-game shows, watching Lefty and the cannons mascot work up the crowd. Laddie was way better but he liked the magpie so she decided he was more worth watching.

"Wedding planning sounds hard. Oh! Yer doing it here right? Who's yer wedding party people so I can tell 'em for ye in case any don't like it."

"We'll all have to pile over there some time," Alasdair mused as the stands began to fill, his eyes scanning the stands on the other sides. "Quiberon used to do an offseason friendly with Heidelberg every year, anniversary of a player from the 1500s who captained both teams to Euro League wins. Usually a pretty good laugh." He sipped his beer again before clarifying his meaning to his teammate.

"Haven't decided yet, but that's not the point. I've already asked Will, Tor and Jason, but I wondered if you'd wanted to join up on our side. Didn't think you'd be into a bridesmaid's frock," he grinned, waiting for her reaction. To the question or the teasing, he wasn't fussy.

Scrimmy stopped mid sip and stared at him in confusion. What? Did she hear that right? "What, ye want me? For yer wedding party? ...Are ye sure?" Because this was a definite first and really she wasn't wedding material. Maybe he'd gotten it wrong for all she knew!

"You and Lorna to round out the group, aye," he began, watching the stands opposite slow down with traffic as they filled, the start of the match now ever closer. "That's if you want to, of course."

Months ago she'd have been bowled over by the Lorna bit but today she just blinked at him then burst into a grin. Al wanted her a part of his wedding fer real? "Yeah! I mean why me but-no actually scratch the question. Yeah! So...what does a wedding party person do?"

Alasdair couldn't help but chuckle - Scrimmy's reaction was far too endearing not to.

"On the groom's side? Far more fun. Help Jason if he needs it for the stag party, get a place up near the front on the big day and maybe have to point out to people which side's which. Piece of cake. Of which there will also be plenty in the literal sense."

She considered that. It did sound way better than the things she'd heard about bridesmaids..

"That's a really good deal. Help with your party, get great seats and cake? There's probably a hidden fee but...yeah! Yeah I'd really like ta!" She had a silly smile on now, both excited and touched that he wanted her in on his big day.

Although Alasdair didn't mention it or know what she was thinking, he too thought that being an usher in the groom's party sounded like much less stress and far more fun, which could only be a good thing for the people in question.

"Hidden fee... I don't know, depends on what you think of a roomful of drunk Buchanans in our rather special tartan, I suppose," he laughed, bumping shoulders with the younger Chaser as the announcer named the players now taking the field.

"I'll wear me bright tartan to match and blend in," she grinned and bumped his shoulder back before turning to watch the players fly in. Her mood had needed lifting before, but after that invite how could she not be happy?

"Scrimgeour solidarity? I approve," he chuckles, watching both teams play out. It definitely looks weird, seeing so many reserves out there.

"What d'you think the Cannons are thinking right now?"
