I am sorry.
I would say this in person, and can, but I suspect you’d rather not see me right now.
Not that I would blame you. ~~I barely want to see me.~~

Hitting people without their consent is not appropriate.
Violence is not an appropriate response.

I wish I could say I had a good reason for my actions. I do not.
I tend to act without thinking and I have been under a lot of stress lately.
This does not excuse my actions.

I am excusing myself from the family holiday party, so please don’t miss out in order to not see me.

Lorna and/or I could swing by before we head to my parents' place on Christmas morning, if you're going to be around then?

The kids will love that- it's their favorite part of the MacFusty party. (They will loudly tell you and at great lengths that it's the presents, but I know the truth.)
