It's been four days, and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the Bad Ideas party from Friday night.

When Portree parties, they really don't do it by halves.

Anyway, all that to say that I've finally settled into my new place! It's on the Island of Raasay, so I'm virtually a stone's throw from practice now.

The only drawback is I have a roommate.

Meet Cecil Winterberry, b. ????, d. 8 October 1781, Poet, Pontificator, Potential Pain in My Arse

He's so annoyed that I managed to get this shot of him, but it's not like he can stop me from putting it down here! We're still working out a system, but at least I've stopped him popping up in my W.C. or waking up to him staring at me while I sleep. Dead creepy that. Literally.

Anyway, I really want to have some kind of housewarming to-do after the holidays, so be on the lookout for additional details there.

[Ro]

Thank you again so much for helping me get settled. Cecil is still apologizing for the mishap in the guest bedroom. He won't shut up about it. I hope your break is going well.

[Razor/Fraser]

I'm assuming by now you've seen the Circe article. I know it's not down to me that we warranted a mention, but I can't help but want to apologize for it. I had a great time, though. Maybe we can surf again sometime? Or we can try ice climbing next?

Also, now that I know a bit better who you are- thanks, Circe?- I felt I should tell you that I accidentally called Mel by your name on Saturday morning in a spectacular feat of mental acuity. In other words, I was hungover all to hell and definitely had you on the brain.

[Maggie]

Can we just agree that Bad Ideas are just that and maybe give them a miss for awhile? Also, what's the policy on dating- or trying to date- Quidditch commissioners?

(strike-through can be read)

Presence of forethought wasn't even in the realm of existence in the face of enough alcohol to fell a fully-grown Erumpent, but to your questions-

Yes. No. No (not that I remember)? And definitely not. I already have a ghost roommate. Why would I want a ghost lov boyfr person-whom-I-dated?

See, that would be well and fine, except Papa Irks called a meeting tomorrow for the admin and owners. Agenda item number two? "Circe." It may only be about MacFarlane, but I

Perhaps Cecil has awoken something latent, spooky, and romantic in you.

Wow. I will lament your passing (and possibly mine, because, really, though, is dating a Quid-commish a professional no-no?), and make sure your eulogy is heartfelt and beautiful. RIP Maggie

Hopefully, it'll be nothing. So long as it doesn't directly affect the game, it's our lives. Kind of like the whole Muggleborn pink thing.

Perhaps Cecil is awakening feelings of annoyance and rage, if he doesn't knock off the damned rhyming couplets at all hours of the day.

Please don't forget to end my eulogy with "Fuck this." With regard to the question of entangling oneself romantically with commissioners, I haven't the foggiest. You've been in this business far longer than I.

Have you uncovered how he met his unfortunate end? Perhaps the perpetrator thought—wrongly—that it would be the only way to shut him up.

Will make that the exclamation point to your eulogy, absolutely.

No frame of reference for this sort of potential romantic entanglement. He's really your distant cousin? The family pool is disturbingly shallow at times.

He won't talk about it, at least not yet. I think he's working up to an epic poem. I'm just going to leave him to it. I know I could research the area, but I'd rather not pry at this point. He's just mad right now because I shared his picture. I don't know why he's complaining; he's not at all bad looking for a dead man.

I'd reckon he's related to most of our without us even realizing it. Was it the sort of evening that ends up in romance, or was it more of a fling [...] thing?

Maybe he's sad he's stuck with a 200-year-old haircut. I'd be.

We're planning a mountain climbing trip in early January (just a day, I'm assuming, since it's local), so I'm thinking...romance? I couldn't be misreading this that badly, I hope.

I'm so glad he's not looking over my shoulder anymore. I don't think I could deal with him crying- especially since I'd be too busy laughing.

Well, I'm glad some of us came out with positive experiences. It should go without saying that I recommend you don't kill yourself on some far-away peak.

Our dearly departed Cecil's sweet. In a way.

Wizard forbid. I'll try my best not to.

If you find that way, please give me directions, because he currently only seems to have a map to my last nerve.

Not sure why that would remind me, but are you going to be listening or going to the Winter Solstice race on Thursday? I'm afraid it's going to be the wireless for me, but at least I can hang around the house and do whatever rather than deal with the crowds.

A ghost after my own heart.

I took a shift at St. Mungo's that runs the entire race, so I'll only be near a wireless when we're waiting for the next call. I was, however, planning to attend the Macmillain party afterward...

And yet, if I arrive late, I get paid and get to party. It isn't the worst deal.

Well, now I should be there too, so I'll keep an eye out for you. Friends don't let friends heal and then party alone.
