Who? Lavender and Hermione
Where? St. Mungo's gift shop
When? Wednesday afternoon

Lavender was sitting behind the counter in the shop on a stool that she'd conjured up. She pursed her lips, tapping her quill against her cheek as she checked the numbers. Business was good, or so it appeared on paper - so why was it so slow? she sighed, glancing over at a few customers that were stocking up on balloons and teddy bears.

Just then, an owl flew in carrying a white box. She had a bewildered expression when she realized it was for her. "Thanks," she murmured, pulling the box open. She gasped at the sight of the beautiful bouquet of flowers inside the box. There was a card too... and that just melted her heart.

Lavender was so engrossed in the card and the smell of the flowers that she didn't notice someone approach the counter....

	Hermione didn't have a lot of friends in her life, and she had even less girl friends. She was glad that she and Lavender were friendly. "It suits you." She said, kindly, accepting her change. "How long has it been?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Ummm," Lavender pursed lips, trying to figure that out. "Well, I guess a month... but more like a week," she sighed, shrugging a little. "It took some time to figure it out," she explained. Lavender's cheeks flushed red and she shook her head. "Something like that," she mumbled, reaching for the card.

"It's umm... well, it's..." she cleared her throat, glancing over Hermione's shoulder at the other customers. Always one to gossip, Lavender was willing to spread the news, but part of her liked the secret. She leaned across the counter and whispered his name in Hermione's ear.

	Hermione shook her head a little, slipping the coins into her purse. She picked up her drink, glanced over her shoulder at the other customers, then gave a little gasp when Lavender said his name. "Really?" She remembered him from school. Now he'd made a name for himself as a musician of sorts. Hermione had read about him in the Daily Prophet. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Hermione wondered why that was so terrifying. She was still grinning softly, watching Lavender react to her questions. Hermione loved watching people and learning about them. 	She nodded in agreement, then handed Hermione her change. This was usually when things got a little awkward - she liked talking to Hermione, they were different people then they had been in school, but they didn't really socialize.
