Who? Lavender and Hermione
Where? St. Mungo's gift shop
When? Wednesday afternoon
What? Lavender gets a delivery

Lavender was sitting behind the counter in the shop on a stool that she'd conjured up. She pursed her lips, tapping her quill against her cheek as she checked the numbers. Business was good, or so it appeared on paper - so why was it so slow? she sighed, glancing over at a few customers that were stocking up on balloons and teddy bears.

Just then, an owl flew in carrying a white box. She had a bewildered expression when she realized it was for her. "Thanks," she murmured, pulling the box open. She gasped at the sight of the beautiful bouquet of flowers inside the box. There was a card too... and that just melted her heart.

Lavender was so engrossed in the card and the smell of the flowers that she didn't notice someone approach the counter....

It was Hermione walking up toward the counter. She had a chocolate bar and a sodapop in her hands, and was wearing a very knowing smirk. The look on Lavender's face was a no brainer. Hermione was happy for Lavender--and especially happy that it wasn't 'Won Won' Lavender was swooning over this time. At least, she assumed so. Ron would have said something, right? Or, maybe that's why he was avoiding her lately?

Hermione tried not to think about it too much as she stepped up to the counter. "You look happy." She said, setting her things down. It was going to be a long night, so she needed the sugary energy from the chocolate and pop.

Lavender slapped down the card, looking up at Hermione. "Hi... Hermione, Hi!" she exclaimed, letting out a laugh. "Hi... candy... OK..." She was flustered and it was obvious - especially considering the silly smile she had on her face.

"Candy bar and soda... long night ahead?" she asked as she rung her up. Hermione only came in for the sugary stuff when she was going to be working into the night. Lavender paid attention.

	Hermione couldn't help but break into a grin at Lavender's actions. She thought that Lavender was amusing when she was distracted. "Very long night. I've got a lot of work to do." She paused. "Pretty flowers." The grin became a smirk. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Lavender gestured toward her ledger. "Paper work can be overwhelming," she agreed. At the mention of the flowers, Lavender sighed a little, glancing at the pink blooms. 	Well, at least it was a 'new' guy and not a 'revisiting' guy. Namely, not Ron. That relieved Hermione more than she thought it should. A part of her was hoping she'd grown past those feelings. Lavender took the money, opening up the register to get her change. "Yeah, I wasn't expecting it," she admited, counting out the coins. "He's... he's great. I can't stop smiling," she laughed, handing Hermione her change. Lavender and Hermione didn't really get along in school, but after Hermione had saved Lavender during the Battle of Hogwarts, Lavender saw her in a new light. They weren't exactly "friends" but they were somewhat friendly.

	Hermione didn't have a lot of friends in her life, and she had even less girl friends. She was glad that she and Lavender were friendly. "It suits you." She said, kindly, accepting her change. "How long has it been?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Ummm," Lavender pursed lips, trying to figure that out. "Well, I guess a month... but more like a week," she sighed, shrugging a little. "It took some time to figure it out," she explained. Lavender's cheeks flushed red and she shook her head. "Something like that," she mumbled, reaching for the card.

"It's umm... well, it's..." she cleared her throat, glancing over Hermione's shoulder at the other customers. Always one to gossip, Lavender was willing to spread the news, but part of her liked the secret. She leaned across the counter and whispered his name in Hermione's ear.

	Hermione shook her head a little, slipping the coins into her purse. She picked up her drink, glanced over her shoulder at the other customers, then gave a little gasp when Lavender said his name. 	Hermione wondered why that was so terrifying. She was still grinning softly, watching Lavender react to her questions. Hermione loved watching people and learning about them. This was usually when things got a little awkward - she liked talking to Hermione, they were different people then they had been in school, but they didn't really socialize.
