A niche of normalcy.
The year is 1977. Voldemort has been gaining power and followers, but for the most part Hogwarts has continued to remain sheltered. There have of course been questions of disappearances and disturbances in both the muggle and wizarding world, and Voldemort has begun recruiting students from more influential families. There is no indication yet of exactly what scale all of this will eventually amount to, but things have begun to take shape, no matter how normal the Hogwarts staff tries to keep life at school.
Next to Normal is a mostly social game that explores the marauder era students as the world around them begins to get darker with the rising in power of Lord Voldemort.

Master or Slave?

Supernatural or Human?

The creatures of the Earth have always been separated into two distinct categories, the Supernatural, and humans, otherwise known as the Children of Eden. Supernaturals are comprised of the superior races; werewolves, vampires, and witches. Humans are considered weak. This, of course, meant that they needed to be protected from themselves, and the best way to protect them, was to enslave them. After all, a human couldn’t eat the apple of sin, if their hands were bound.
This is the story of Crescent Hills, a town tucked away in the Rocky Mountains, where the Supernatural rule without fear, and their human slaves obey them without question. But times are changing. The rift between the Supernaturals is growing. Werewolves and witches consider vampires to be abominations. Werewolves and vampires think witches are too human. Vampires and witches think werewolves have no control. Human slaves are witness to it all, and some have decided to use it to their advantage. It has always felt like the Supernatural races and the human race are at war, or at least that the humans have been rebelling against them. The three power houses of the Supernatural have kept them at bay until now, and they believe they are winning the war against the humans.
In another part of the Mountains, camps of renegade humans have developed, making it their goal to disrupt Supernatural society in any way possible. Over the last year, attacks on outlying estates, slave “rescues”, and theft of supplies have skyrocketed. Several camps have been raided, and the humans sold into servitude. Little do the owners know, these slaves aren’t just content to serve. Now they are working from the inside, trying to bring down the great Houses of the Supernaturals. Some ‘born’ slaves have been convinced to turn against their Masters, while others remain loyal. A storm is brewing, and only time will tell which side will be victorious.
Will you give orders or will you submit? Apply as master or slave and enter the world of supernaturals and humans. Original characters are welcome and encouraged. The game started on September 29th. There are no holds on played bys, so get in those applications! |

1977. The last year the Marauders get to be blissfully unaware of the events occurring outside of the castle walls, and act like teenagers. However, how long will that last? With Voldemort and his followers rising, attacks around the Wizarding Community increasing, will the students of Hogwarts remain untouched?

 For the Marauders another year at Hogwarts has begun; there's classes to attend, spells to learn and of course mischief to make. Safe and protected in the Castle, it feels like the stirrings of war are a thousand miles away. Until things start to get weird. It starts with small things; the feeling of deja vu and half remembered dreams, until the line between dreams and reality starts to blur. At first this discovery can be considered interesting and even fun, a new playground to be explored. But magic always comes with a price, and not only could the dreamscape have more nefarious uses, but manipulating the dream world could have disastrous consequences upon the real one. In somnia is a medium level LJ role play; whilst there's no set word length for posts, it's preferable to post at least 1 paragraph. The main posting will be on the insomnia-mwpp.livejournal.com community, with character journals for 'parchment play' (interlinked journals that can be used as a messaging system between students, staff etc) There's no set plotline exactly, so feel free to take the scenario and plot away with fellow players and if you'd like, join in some of the mod run 'events' (ie. Halloween, Yule ball etc). However, any radical changes to the world, characters etc should be discussed with mods and characters in question first. A game with talented players, an abundance of plot, and a promise not to die? ;-) Chronic Resurrection is a dark Harry Potter game set in 1982 and 2003 exploring the AU that arises following the inadvertent time-travel of four key individuals. We're currently at an interesting place as in 1982 Harry has managed to save James but not Lily, and the timeline is all screwed up in 2003. The Death Eaters have won and Harry is trapped in a mirror. We're currently recruiting for more bad guys and are being quite picky when taking applications for good guys. People are disappearing at alarming rates and there is an overall feeling of uneasiness over wizarding society. With war knocking on their door, the students of Hogwarts are starting to feel the pressure of an adult world they are not quite prepared for. Alliances within the walls of Hogwarts are starting to be drawn and the effects will be everlasting as the students navigate through the year. Even with the outside world breathing down their necks, some things will never change. Quidditch victories will be fought for, teenage romances will be conducted and exams will be taken. Some feel this is their last chance to enjoy their childhood and they’re not letting that slip through their fingers.
