...That poor man.
My prayers are with his family.

Seattle... isn't such a nice place to live anymore.

I think it hasn't changed much since my arrival.

In comparison to my old life? This was a thorough improvement.
...Things keep happening, I think, things I wouldn't have noticed once before.

People didn't die often where I came from.
It actually made an impact when somebody did. A big impact, actually, more than you could comprehend.

Here... it just happens.

Mr Whitmire. Lovely to speak with you again, by the way.

You're not from Musings? How did you get Everyone died all the time back home ...? I mean, I don't advocate it at all but from unnatural causes the numbers are low here. They have the natural causes to make up for it I guess [...] yeah.

Always. Change your mind by any chance?

Oh, don't misunderstand me. I was from Musings.
But I come from a place that had bodyguards. Armed ones. Everybody I knew had one, it was simply the done thing.

The one time someone close to me died, it was an unnatural cause. And there have been far more here. ...I suppose this is all through personal experience really. I know Musings was difficult. I just never experienced it.

[...]

No. Unfortunately not, I'm afraid I stand by my reasoning. The negatives outweigh the positives.

Ah. Well some of us weren't as lucky. I mean, I have, but I know people who weren't. And I lived in New York City where it was as bad as it gets.

[...]

Have you thought about it? [...] And you'd be surprised.

I grew up in Pittsburgh. We never really had any trouble.

I have. I even did a little research.
I found it might be somewhat hazardous to my health.
You neglected to tell me of the recent death.

I was.

I'm sure it was. But in no other theatre I have worked in has someone died while I was considering the option. It's not a promising sign, is it?

No. But it was [...] before, so we could ignore any superstitions?
