We've had bad luck with our kids -- they've all grown up.
No child wants to grow up. Who would want to give up the playing, the toys, the presents and the lack of responsibility? But for some children, growing up was so much more. These are the children who visited Narnia, who fought with Captain Hook, who walked the Hundred Acre Woods. The children who spoke to animals that no one else could see, the ones who had the magical friends, the vivid imaginations, and the ability to do whatever they wanted to, with no one to tell them no.
Can you picture Wendy as a call-center telemarketer instead of with Peter? Calvin in a 9-5 and no Hobbes in sight? Lucy as a Dental Technician and not roaming Narnia with Aslan? Christopher Robin working on cars for a living? Coraline trying to make ends meet on her mortgage? Yeah, they couldn’t ever picture it either.
But it happened anyway.
