OH YEAH okay so I've been having THOUGHTS about stuff, and i was wondering - for those of you who were only raised by one parent/no parent/whatever, have you ever thought about looking your parents up? I had a fun time at my dad's place. He took my news pretty well. I mean, he didn't stop talking to me, and gave me a hug at the airport, so I'm thinking everything's fine. He just didn't say much about it. I didn't show him what I can do, which helps. I've been back for a while, but I haven't said much. Not because of that. Just because. I said a bit too much during that truth thing, I think. I almost spilled the beans. Nothing too bad. Maybe.

I'm excited about school in general. I'm not excited about that intro acting class I'm taking. But I guess it'll help. Blah, blah, blah. I'll get through it. Maybe. We'll see. Everyone will hear me complain at some point.

I'd have to say that the recent span of experimental plays I've seen has greatly upset me. Clearly someone has done to the stage what Starbucks has done to coffee: you cannot slap something together, call it a play and expect me to fall for it. It is also lessening the value of actual, valid experimental pieces.

Good fucking god I hope none of you actually think you have created something profound. You couldn't even establish what the message of your piece was. Embarrassing.

But every single time, she let him down just enough to wonder why he kept coming back. Maybe there was just something about boys and their mothers — Emilie sure didn't have the same problem. Maybe it was just him and his mother. She expected more from him.

Neither of them did much more than talk about what was happening in their lives since the last time they saw each other. They spent a day walking around town, and they went out to eat at a chain restaurant where she looked at him disapprovingly when he started on his third beer. He did work on a few house projects for her, albeit slowly since he hated manual labor. And she tutted each time he said he was on a break. Then, well, she just thanked him. There was also a short awkward hug when he left, but that was it.
