It was dark out, peaceful. The wind was blowing gently, causing the leaves to chatter to one another. The world was sleeping. Now was the time for the Other to make himself known.
He pulled the cloak closer to his body, blocking out the winter chill hanging in the air. Godric's Hollow. This was where it all began many years ago; this was where it would begin again. His name would be known. His name would be feared, and the others, the ones who were sleeping, would be the ones who feared him.
Somewhere on the other side of the village a dog was barking, and the crickets were punctuating the silence between its howls. He drew his wand, spun it deftly between his fingers. First the dog fell silent, and then the crickets - they could sense the power being drawn to him, and they were not stupid enough to challenge it.
They would see his symbol upon awaking, those who were sleeping, and they would know fear. He had not been defeated... not by a mere child. He raised his wand to the sky and pronounced clearly, "Morsmordre." Green lit up the sky and the surrounding area just before the Other disappeared... and the terrified screams began. |
