Who: Layla Williams, Lucas Scott and OTA
When: Day 31
What: Layla is outside in a spring like coat, black yoga pants, sneakers and is playing with a football, aiming it at a tire swing that she thought of an it appeared. So far she has made 3 out of 5 tries. Could turn into a small football game?
Rating: Probably PG just to be safe.
Status: Incomplete.

Layla was bored and looking for other forms of exercise. Layla had grown her proverbial rain forest in her room, all manner of plants grew in there, she had practiced her yoga and Tai chi, then she worked through what they taught her at Sky High in order to protect herself on missions, throwing daggers,(because it was pretty cool that her costume, in its entirety had show up. Armour, Sky High Sidekick survival belt, goggles, fire resistant, hair protector, cape and jet pack among all of her other tools of the trade that her team collected over the years. It must have been shipped here at the same time she was, because it was with her clothing at the swimming pool and when she got back to her room, her clothing, books and everything in her locker were already in her room. It was like the locker was shipped with her, just not in the same area. So weird.) So, here she was...routine gone through, as per usual, now she was just bored to death. School was so important to her, not having it everyday was a challenge. Layla traded in her throwing daggers then for a football, some fresh air and a target to aim it at, come on, it was the same principal! The application of a throwable object at a stagnant target, just less violent and the pacifist in her preened at that, but she never knew when throwing daggers might come in handy? Layla also realized that while here, she needed to keep up on her training. That meant swimming, hand to hand combat, survival training in the outdoors. Lastly, she would need to find a bow and shooting range soon enough to start working on her skills there, because Layla really sucked with it came to the bow, may be it had to do with the principal of how violent it seemed? Shooting an object made of meat with a sharp object. It squicked her to no end, as did the daggers, but Royal Pain made her realize you never knew when applied violence that did not take a life would be needed?

"Here is the ball." Layla handed him the ball, stood and walked to her side of the field. Watching him intently, her mind in a 100 million different directions.

"What does this mean.... for us?" he asked after he took the ball from her.

"It means you have the ball." Layla said quietly.

"Okay," he said quietly back. He contemplated going back to his room since she seemed off with him and he'd ruined any chance with her before he'd even had a chance.

"I blew it, didn't I?" he asked.

Layla sighed heavily then, standing there and staring at him. Layla was trying to take a leap of faith here. "Do you think you have?"

"I don't want to have. I like you, I really like you Layla. And I'd really like to think I still have a chance with you."

"Then why are you hogging the ball, Lucas?" Layla asked softly.

He gave her a small smile and tossed her the ball. He was really hoping she'd give him another chance.

Layla didn't understand him, Layla was trying really hard to go back to how it was before Faith joined. "Forget it, you just seem so different and just, here." Layla walked over and handed him the ball. "I'm sorry, but I don't know what I am doing wrong and why you are acting so strangely. I told you that you didn't need this game to ask me..." Layla shook her head and began to walk to her coat.

"I am trying to understand. I ask you if we're still playing for that, you say I don't have to. I ask you what the story with us is, you say I'm hogging the ball. I'm just confused."

"Because I thought it was just two people who liked each other playing football! I told you, you didn't have to play it anymore. Oh bother." Layla pulled on her coat.

"You barely know me though?" Layla turned around, she was vulnerable, felt vulnerable. He probably would take it all wrong.

He walked to her and cupped her cheeks.

"I may not fully know every detail about you but I do know a lot about you. And I know the person you are, in your heart. And I will fight for you if I have to."

"You don't need to fight for me. I am just scared, I am scared, because you are all that I know here and to me the boyfriend and the friends are different, they are and I don't want to be friendless, but I feel like I will be. Does that make sense?" Layla asked.

"Yeah it does," he said. "Can I ask you something? Do you want me to just be your friend? Because if that's what you need from me I'll be there for you, as your friend. Because I care about you, a lot."

"I know," he said softly.

He gasped in surprise when she kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back, slow and intense. He savored the feel of her lips against his and how good her mouth tasted.

"I didn't, I asked. I'll be whatever you need me to be for you," he moaned against her lips. "I just wanna be there for you."
