Group Activity - Bowling!
WHO: Jareth, Severus Snape, Dean Winchester, Michiru Kaioh (posting order TBD)
WHAT: Group Activity - Bowling
WHEN: Morning of Day 31
WHERE: The Bowling Alley
RATING: PG?
STATUS: Incomplete

When Snape heard the sound outside his door, his mood sank and he fought off an urge to fling the closest beaker against the far wall. He recognized well the scuffling sound of golem feet, the thump of a note being stuck to his door, and the subtle sound of his teeth grinding. Group activities. He hated them. He still remembered the painful nightmare of being forced to pick grapes and crush them between his toes. He also remembered, however, how useless it had been to resist, how he had been dragged kicking and screaming like a child to the vineyard. Opting out was not an option.

Going to the door to collect his "invitation", he shuddered anew when he read that he was to go bowling. Though he was not an avid player of recreational games, he was familiar with the game of boules and understood bowling to be a muggle adaptation of it. Furthermore, his walks through the common building had resulted in his awareness of the existence of a facility there designed for the accommodation of the pastime. Throwing on the clothes he had taken off the night before, he summoned a pumpkin pasty and headed for the main lodge. Best to get this nonsense over with.

The bowling alley, an odd room if he had ever seen one, was empty of other participants when he arrived. As he looked over the layout of the lanes and gutters, an attending golem handed him a pair of ugly muggle shoes and pointed to a bench. Snape assumed he was meant to wait for the others.

As the rounds passed, he found himself sinking more and more into boredom. This was not at all what he wanted to be doing. He hadn't been here so long that he was willing to be taken away from the exploring he could be doing, and he attributed that in part to his companions. Unfair, certainly, but he was hardly worried about it.

On his turn, he approached. He was getting a little better as time went on, though not as good as the obnoxious people he was saddled with. He would avoid these two in the future. Either that or plague them with illusions. He wasn't sure if they were important enough for that.

Apparently, his annoyance gave him some skill, and he managed to knock down four of the pins. Of course... yes, that's what he would do. On his next turn. His face wasn't set now in a mocking expression, but an expectant one. Maybe he could have some fun with this after all...

Since it was becoming increasingly more fun to tease the other man, Dean found himself cycling through ideas for pranks or jibes he could toss out at Jareth. The guy looked so bored that he might as well have been bordering on comatose. Smirking at the cat who ate the canary expression on Jareth's face as he came back to his seat after only having knocked down four pins, Dean stood up, beer in hand.

Except he didn't stay standing. He feigned tripping on his shoelaces and tumbled back into his chair, his beer flying up in the air, the amber liquid spraying everywhere around him as he did. Then the glass bottle hit the floor and shattered, splashing the remaining beer up in the air and across the floor.

Dean's face was the perfect picture of contrition. "I am so sorry about that, guys. I hope I didn't get either of you wet."

Michiru watched Dean trip, almost in slow motion. She twisted back and out of the way of the liquid spray. Some splashed on the tips of her shoes, but the hard construction of the bowling shoes caused it to roll right off.

"No worries Dean-san" she said with a knowing smile. She was pretty sure he'd tripped on purpose, and since she was also pretty sure it had been to annoy Jareth, she approved.

Jareth's handsome face contorted into a mask of rage, and he stepped back quickly enough that only a small amount of the beer sprayed onto him, and only below the knees. But he was not placated by this fact. In seconds, he'd produced one of his crystal balls and thrown it at the remains of the beer bottle.

The thing disappeared into a multi-colored cloud of smoke, but from this rather pretty affect came... well, that would rather depend on what the person that saw it was most afaid of. He was not directing this illusion. It would seek out that information from the heads of anyone watching, and whatever scared them most, that's what they would see coming from the mess.

"You need to be more careful." His eyes narrowed, but there was a slight smile on his lips. Maybe these mere mortals would be more careful around him from now on. He didn't know if Dean had done this on purpose, though he suspected he had, but either way he thought that he would be a little more careful from now on.

Dean smiled toothily, brushing his hand back through his hair, playing it perfectly. "Sorry, dude. It's a good thing you've got magic balls (he tried not to snicker) to clean up after idiots like me."

He glanced over at where the mess had been quickly and then back at Jareth. Except something wasn't right and his eyes flicked back to the scene beginning to unfold there on the floor where his beer bottle had broken.

"What the hell?" Dean scrambled to his feet, eyes flashing as he pushed past Jareth and knelt on the floor. Because he had seen so much in his life, little scared him anymore. So to him, the illusion was not a monster at all. "Sam? Are you ok? What happened to you? Where's all this blood coming from? Sam? Sam!?"

And he hollered over his shoulder at Michiru. "Find a doctor or something. Hurry!"

Flashes of colored smoke were not entirely out of Michiru's experience. She jumped back out of the way, her hand automatically reaching for her henshin wand. Like Dean, she'd seen too much to be frightened by monsters or ghosts or such things. Instead, her heart caught in her throat as the smoke cleared to reveal the broken, and very dead body of Haruka. Her blood ran ice cold, and she couldn't move. Thoughts chased themselves in tiny circles through her mind as she tried to process what she was seeing.

Then, Dean's cries broke through the mental cycle of panic, and rationality reasserted itself. Sam. He thought the person on the floor was someone named Sam. Someone who was bleeding. But she saw Haruka, dead, and not bleeding. Something was not right here.

"No" she said, when Dean asked her to call for a doctor. She tore her gaze from the vision, and locked eyes with Jareth. "There's no need for a doctor, is there?" Her voice was cold and dangerous. He thought he could play with them? She could feel the inner ocean waves stir, her senshi nature asserting itself, insisting she protect the civilian.
