Group Activity - Bowling!
WHO: Jareth, Severus Snape, Dean Winchester, Michiru Kaioh (posting order TBD)
WHAT: Group Activity - Bowling
WHEN: Morning of Day 31
WHERE: The Bowling Alley
RATING: PG?
STATUS: Incomplete

When Snape heard the sound outside his door, his mood sank and he fought off an urge to fling the closest beaker against the far wall. He recognized well the scuffling sound of golem feet, the thump of a note being stuck to his door, and the subtle sound of his teeth grinding. Group activities. He hated them. He still remembered the painful nightmare of being forced to pick grapes and crush them between his toes. He also remembered, however, how useless it had been to resist, how he had been dragged kicking and screaming like a child to the vineyard. Opting out was not an option.

Going to the door to collect his "invitation", he shuddered anew when he read that he was to go bowling. Though he was not an avid player of recreational games, he was familiar with the game of boules and understood bowling to be a muggle adaptation of it. Furthermore, his walks through the common building had resulted in his awareness of the existence of a facility there designed for the accommodation of the pastime. Throwing on the clothes he had taken off the night before, he summoned a pumpkin pasty and headed for the main lodge. Best to get this nonsense over with.

The bowling alley, an odd room if he had ever seen one, was empty of other participants when he arrived. As he looked over the layout of the lanes and gutters, an attending golem handed him a pair of ugly muggle shoes and pointed to a bench. Snape assumed he was meant to wait for the others.

Jareth had been relatively delighted when he'd learned he could make his room look as he wish. There was no question in his mind what that would be. A quick illusion was all it took, and the room looked exactly as if it housed his labyrinth. It shouldn't have been possible, not given the size of the room he was given, but in this case his illusions worked together with Mirage. Of course, little of it had substance, but Jareth wasn't too worried about that. It looked like home, that was enough.

His good mood, however, had pretty much died down to nothing as he'd heard the noise outside his room. Of course, he went to investiage immediately. How dare someone intrude on him like this? And his feelings weren't exactly soothed by being ordered, yes, ordered, to present himself. He sneered disdainfully, and went about his business. No one, but no one, ordered Jareth the Goblin King around.

The golem caught up with him not long after. His shriek of outrage was ignored, as he was picked up and flung over the things shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Kicking and flailing might be beneath his dignity, but no one treated him like this. It did nothing, and the illusions he created were useless as well. Many fearsome monsters appeared to attack the stone creature, but it impassively ignored all of them.

After only a short time, he was deposited in a very strange place. A bowling alley, yes, he'd been here before. Not this exact one, but while pretending to be human one had to try these things. He sneered and glanced around, deliberately straightening his rather elaborate clothing. He had no use for this game, but when he turned to leave, the golem blocked his way.

"Fine." He muttered under his breath while accepting with great reluctance the shoes he was handed. His eyes fell on a strange, dark-haired man, and his sneer returned. "I suppose you are a part of this plot, then? Or an innocent victim? Well, which is it?" He spoke imperiously, demanding a response and expecting to get one."

Michiru received the note on her door with a sigh. Another one of these? She favored the golem who'd delivered it with a withering look that sadly had no effect on the creature. It continued to stand there, waiting. She checked the time listed on the note and sighed again.

"I'm comming" she said, and closed the door. "Looks like it's my turn today" she commented to Haruka, tossing the note at the blond. Without waiting for a response, she entered the closet to find a better outfit for the morning's activity.

As she had hoped, Michiru was neither the first or the last to arrive at the bowling ally. She recognized the dark-haired man from that unfortunate kidnapping... incident. The other gentleman she didn't recognize, but she heard the end of his rather imperious comment. She stifled a small smile. He must be new, with that kind of arrogance.

"Oh we are innocent victims" she said, sardonically as she walked over to the two men. She accepted a pair of shoes from a golem with a nod of thanks, and then bowed to the others. "And good morning to you both as well"

Dean had either escaped or not been summoned to group activities before. The golem stood serenely outside Dean's door with the invitation which Dean glanced momentarily at and then shut the door without accepting it. "Yeah right, bowling?" he grumbled and flung himself back into bed. He had been having a dream. Oh it had been a wonderful dream and if he relaxed just right he could drift back -

Another knock. Dean flung himself at the door this time. Rubbing his bare chest absently, he glared at the golem who appeared to have gained an air of malevolence now. Dean had heard of golems forcibly bringing residents to group activities. He briefly considered letting the thing try, but he remembered the race in the pool yesterday with Michiru and how nothing was ever what it seemed here.

"Alright, fine." He reached for a t-shirt, the one with the AC/DC logo, and put it on along the way to the bowling alley.

Once inside, the smell of used shoes and whatever they used to lubricate he hydraulics of the ball return made him grimace. He nodded to the two men and then paused when he saw Michiru. Respectfully he bowed slightly to her before flopping into a seat.

"There'd better be beer. That's all I can say."
