As always, Legolas was wide awake when the note came. Of course, since he never truly slept, this wasn't much of a surprise. He jumped off the couch he had been resting on and ran to the door. It had become a bit of a game to him, to see if he could get there fast enough to catch the golem in the act of pinning the note to his door. He had yet to do it, and today was no exception. By the time he got there, the thing was long gone. No trace was left of it, except of course the note.

It was no surprise to him what it said, and he even knew what one of the things was that he was supposed to be doing. The elves made wonderful canoes, though of course he'd never even remotely heard of kayaks. He grinned broadly, beyond pleased by the summons. He really liked meeting new people, and he'd met several through activities such as this. Of course, not all of them were still on Mirage, but he chose not to think of that.

A quick shower later, he dressed himself in his typical tunic and leggings. His sharp silver knives he kept in their place, but the bow he regretfully left behind. Just like when he'd gone white river rafting, he knew the weapon would be useless with all the water splashing around. He couldn't help but feel a bit naked without it, though, as he stepped out the door for breakfast.

It wasn't long before he was at the appointed spot by the shore of the lake. There were several boats around, and he looked at the curiously. They didn't seem to be made out of wood, but rather some strange substance he'd never seen before. Thoughtfully, he went over and tapped on it. The sound made him laugh. Then, he stood back and waited, hoping others would come soon.

As far as the elf was concerned, they could grump as much as they wanted. As long as they did what they were supposed to do, everything else was irrelevant. He'd had months and months of experience with Gimli the dwarf, and he was pretty much immune to surlyness now. Not to mention Aragorn hadn't exactly been Mr Friendly, either.

Legolas got into the boat without even moving it shift in the water. Swiftly, he seated himself and took up a paddle. "This is really quite simple... as most of you know, apparently." He flashed a smile all around. "At the count of three..."

His paddle went into the water. "One..." He braced himself, ready to spring into motion. "Two..." One more second, and he spoke the final number. "Three!" With a wink at Mercy, his paddle was moving swiftly through the water. He might not look all that strong, but he could really make the boat move.
