As always, Legolas was wide awake when the note came. Of course, since he never truly slept, this wasn't much of a surprise. He jumped off the couch he had been resting on and ran to the door. It had become a bit of a game to him, to see if he could get there fast enough to catch the golem in the act of pinning the note to his door. He had yet to do it, and today was no exception. By the time he got there, the thing was long gone. No trace was left of it, except of course the note.

It was no surprise to him what it said, and he even knew what one of the things was that he was supposed to be doing. The elves made wonderful canoes, though of course he'd never even remotely heard of kayaks. He grinned broadly, beyond pleased by the summons. He really liked meeting new people, and he'd met several through activities such as this. Of course, not all of them were still on Mirage, but he chose not to think of that.

A quick shower later, he dressed himself in his typical tunic and leggings. His sharp silver knives he kept in their place, but the bow he regretfully left behind. Just like when he'd gone white river rafting, he knew the weapon would be useless with all the water splashing around. He couldn't help but feel a bit naked without it, though, as he stepped out the door for breakfast.

It wasn't long before he was at the appointed spot by the shore of the lake. There were several boats around, and he looked at the curiously. They didn't seem to be made out of wood, but rather some strange substance he'd never seen before. Thoughtfully, he went over and tapped on it. The sound made him laugh. Then, he stood back and waited, hoping others would come soon.

When the vampire came, Legolas raised his head and looked around. Even his sharp eyes couldn't quite see where he was, but he could tell something was there. Something that wasn't alive. But he didn't get the same sense from the being as he did from the Nazgul, and he couldn't quite figure it out... puzzled, he looked around, sharp elven eyes combing the landscape for something that would equate for the strange feeling he was getting.

Mercy's arrival distracted him, however, and he took her hand. It was a strange human custom, the handshake, but he'd done it quite often over the last little while. He was more than comfortable with it. "Lady Mercy..." He released the handshake and then bowed to her formally. "I am Prince Legolas of Mirkwood, may the Valar smile on our meeting." After, he looked at her curiously as she spoke to nothing... or perhaps the presence he had felt earlier.

"Hold, my Lady Mercy." He held up a cautioning hand, seeing far in the distance another figure approaching. "We have more company, how wonderful." Elven eyes are very good, and he saw more details from farther way than would normally be possible. "He seems to have some sort of injury, he is limping."

When the male approached, Legolas bowed to him as well. "I do not know what these things are of which you speak... except for campfires. Of those I know much. I do enjoy singing, though I do not know Kumbayah. Would you teach it to me?" He paused and then continued on curiously. "What is a smore?"

But apparently conversation time was somewhat over, because a golem was coming up and turning two of the canoes over. "How shall we do this? Do we wish to take one of the bigger boats out together? Does anyone else here have much experience with boating?" He, of course, did. He looked at them all curiously.
