Michiru had spent a good hour or so posting notes around the resort. She'd put one up in all the common rooms, plus one at the restaurant and the theatre itself. Hopefully everyone who would be interested would see them. She wasn't sure exactly how many fellow musicians there were here, or how many would come, but if there was one thing Michiru was sure of, it was of the ability of music to connect people. And right now, she was feeling a need to connect, after the ordeal of the kidnapping and everything.

She made sure to arrive at the theatre well before the time she'd posted to get things set up. She hadn't been sure about using the theatre; it seemed a bit too formal for the type of get-together she intended, but the acoustics were perfect, and there really wasn't any better space. So, she set about getting things set up. Several of the resort's ever present golems appeared to help, carrying out music stands and chairs. Michiru wasn't sure what kind of instruments people would be playing or needing, but she figured they could figure that out when they arrived. Two of the golems pushed a rather nice grand piano out on the stage, and Michiru felt a twinge of regret that she hadn't asked Haruka to come as well. But it wasn't fair for her to always be dragging the blond to these kind of things, and while she was quite an accomplished pianist, Haruka didn't share Michiru's deep love for music.

Satisfied that everything was set up as best as it could be, Michiru shooed the golems away and took out her violin. With practiced ease she tuned it and tucked it under her chin. She took a few minutes to just warm up, playing a few scales and easy exercises before she began playing in earnest. Just a slow, sad piece that fit her current mood. She hadn't gotten too far in before she saw the door open and someone come in.

Though Yvaine had not apologized when she finally remembered the other three when her song was finished, she felt an intense desire to do so now. They all seemed uncomfortable to her because their faces all showed something a bit downtrodden and self-conscious. She had caused this, and she felt a small sadness slip its way into her heart. The bright glow around her dimmed, and a narrow line of worry made itself apparent between her brows.

“I had not meant for any to feel such a way. I have been watching the Earth and its goings-on for thirty millenia. I had only hoped that by learning to play even a simple instrument, I might be able to add to our music, so you might not feel alone as the only instrumentalist. Please, I love to listen to musicians of all kinds, whether they be humans, elves, my sister stars, my mother Moon, or some other creature. Please, do not be afraid to sing or play.” Yvaine was pleading with them, though not in a whining, begging sort of way. She only wished to raise their self-confidence.

Michiru had the right idea. “Yes. This is for fun. It is a way to experience the styles of all musicians.” She prompted gently. She had never had the intention of outshining anyone- so to speak ((no pun intended))- with her voice. She enjoyed having well honed skills, but she was not the competitive sort who wished to be the best in any area. The evening star far preferred the idea that she could share her gifts so others could share theirs.

The notes she heard from the aqua haired woman’s violin were lovely, and she found herself smiling. Then she smiled again when the elf prodded a tune out of the piano. When he requested the violinist come up with something like the tune he had created, Yvaine felt inspired to do the same with the crystallophone before her. Of course, she was quite pleased with herself for having decided an instrument would be good for her to use, for she would not be completely useless while she wasn’t singing. Indeed, she would not sing, at least not yet.

Having perfect pitch helped her much in discovering a melody that suited the elf’s tune. The little mallets stuck the glass bars gently, but they released a melodic tune that flowed into the one played upon the piano, and it sounded quite nice with the violin as well. She could feel the instruments resonating around her. The acoustics of this place were truly magnificent. She hardly had to project the sound of this little instrument at all for it to be heard. Unable to prevent herself from adding her voice, she kept her mouth closed, but allowed a sound to reverberate among her vocal cords to let out a soft humming that would do nothing more than add to the background music. She wanted to hear the other voices, and she didn’t want her own voice to disrupt their joy. She was fond enough of playing this interesting instrument and humming along softly with the music. Her glow brightened a little once again as she allowed the sounds to flow around her and through her.
