What: Making music and meeting fellow musicians.
Where: Inside the theatre
Rating: PG-13 just to be safe
Status: Complete

Michiru had spent a good hour or so posting notes around the resort. She'd put one up in all the common rooms, plus one at the restaurant and the theatre itself. Hopefully everyone who would be interested would see them. She wasn't sure exactly how many fellow musicians there were here, or how many would come, but if there was one thing Michiru was sure of, it was of the ability of music to connect people. And right now, she was feeling a need to connect, after the ordeal of the kidnapping and everything.

She made sure to arrive at the theatre well before the time she'd posted to get things set up. She hadn't been sure about using the theatre; it seemed a bit too formal for the type of get-together she intended, but the acoustics were perfect, and there really wasn't any better space. So, she set about getting things set up. Several of the resort's ever present golems appeared to help, carrying out music stands and chairs. Michiru wasn't sure what kind of instruments people would be playing or needing, but she figured they could figure that out when they arrived. Two of the golems pushed a rather nice grand piano out on the stage, and Michiru felt a twinge of regret that she hadn't asked Haruka to come as well. But it wasn't fair for her to always be dragging the blond to these kind of things, and while she was quite an accomplished pianist, Haruka didn't share Michiru's deep love for music.

Satisfied that everything was set up as best as it could be, Michiru shooed the golems away and took out her violin. With practiced ease she tuned it and tucked it under her chin. She took a few minutes to just warm up, playing a few scales and easy exercises before she began playing in earnest. Just a slow, sad piece that fit her current mood. She hadn't gotten too far in before she saw the door open and someone come in.

Intrigued, Yvaine lifted one of the sticks with a ball at the end of it to strike gently against the glass. The sound was indeed beautiful to her ears. The resonance of the sound after each note pleased her greatly, and she allowed a gentle note to leave her lips to verify that it would be harmonious with her voice. Thrice she went through the scale of notes with both her vocal cords and the mallet against the bars until she felt comfortable with the notes it emitted. Then she went through it thrice more while using both mallets. This was not so difficult.

Because she was new to this, she took her time with striking a couple of notes together to hear the effect, and finally she played something slow, but slightly more complicated. Of course, to any who had played this instrument professionally, the small, but elegant ditty she played would have been nothing more than child’s play, but she was quite satisfied with herself. The second time she played it, adding to it with words that emitted in an unearthly but beautiful tone. Her voice was inhumanly beautiful and ethereal, but she was no human. Yvaine was a celestial being. Why should her voice singing voice sound human?

The words told the shortened and whimsical version of the different ways her sisters took to entertaining themselves while in the sky. Some would dance, some would sing, some would paint, others still would arrange themselves so they appeared to be pictures upon which the humans- and other creatures- could gaze as they thought about all the things about which a human or other such creature thinks. The song was short with a mere two versus, and it lacked a chorus, but she hadn’t meant to burst into a serious song. It had merely been a helpful way to teach herself how to play this instrument. It helped that she had a good ear for music, and she had seen some play upon instruments quite similar to this over the millennia.

If Yvaine was talented in nothing else, she had a talent for music. Of course, she never would have been able to play an unsimplified version of this instrument so easily, and she knew any instruments more complicated than this would take a lot more time to which to grow accustomed enough to play the small ditty she had just achieved on this crystallaphone. She glowed radiantly, for music was her favorite pastime.

Suddenly remembering herself- and the fact that she was not alone- Yvaine looked up quickly, a blush tinting her cheeks in a light pink that glittered, for her skin itself glittered. She did not apologize, though. They were here for music, after all, and music was what she had just created while trying to teach herself how to use this instrument.

"Don't worry, singing is music as well" Michiru said with an encouraging smile at the ginger haired girl. "I sing a bit myself, though I am more of an instrumentalist" She turned her attention to the violin for a moment while Legolas greeted the other girl, though she caught his smile and wink. She returned a smile of her own along with a single raised eyebrow. Clearly something had happened, and it looked like something good. Which made her happy. Someone deserved something good after the past few days.

She watched as the elf wandered the stage and chuckled slightly as he touched the piano, a clear pure G filtering out into the theatre. "It's a piano my dear elf, and quite a beautiful one. You're making me regret I didn't drag Haruka here. She's quite the accomplished pianist."

It was hard to ignore the star woman, not that Michiru wanted to. It wasn't even the glow. The woman's aura reminded her some what of the Starlights, but _more_ somehow. Maybe she was indeed an actual star. Her interest was piqued even more when the woman began playing. Michiru had always been considered a prodigy with the violin, but the natural way this woman took to the instrument put her to shame. And when she sang as well... It simply took the breath away.

"Lady Yvaine" Michiru said, when the woman had finished. "You do know how to make one feel a wee bit incompetent" She kept her tone light and joking, not wanting or meaning to offend. "Still we, or at least I, am just a mere mortal so..." she shrugged and picked up the violin, settling it between her shoulder and chin with practiced ease. She set the bow to the strings, and with a slight smile pulled forth a string of notes. "This is just for fun after all."
