Entry tags:arrival, complete, day 18, fred weasley, george weasley, ginny weasley, nymphadora tonks

Who: Ginny Weasley, Tonks, Fred & George and anyone else who wants to join
When: day 18 afternoon
What: Ginny arrives
Where: Indoor Pool
Rating: probably PG-13
Status: incomplete

Ginny walked through the garden behind the Burrow. The house was too crowded for her liking right now. A lot of friends were there and the whole family, or better what was left of it. In the distance Ginny could see fireworks. It had been like that ever since the wizarding world heard of Voldemorts death. Of course she understood that it was a reason to celebrate. Part of her was even happy. The war was finally over and Harry was free now. Those were definitely good things. There hopefully would be no more unnecessary deaths now and once everything had calmed down a little she'd go and talk to Harry.

Right now Ginny however didn't feel happy and didn't want to see the fireworks of celebrating people. And she couldn't stand to stay inside any longer, where a huge photo of Fred was standing in the room. He was laughing and joking in it. George said it was what Fred would have wanted. A photo of him that cheered them all up. Well, it didn't cheer her up right now. There had been so many funerals this week. Tonks & Remus and then Freds were the last ones she went to. The war was over, but it cost so much.

Sighing Ginny tried to push away these thoughts. They wouldn't want her to be sad. They'd want her to be happy and celebrate. She would have to try harder.

Turning around she made a step forward to walk back to the house. But her foot didn't find solid ground to step onto. Ginny lost her balance and then fell forward, right into a pool. She was under water for a few moments, until she finally made it to the surface, coughing and spitting water out.

"Bloody hell", she muttered and then looked around. She so wasn't in the Burrows garden anymore.

"GEORGE", she yelled while trying to get to a ladder so she could climb out of the pool. What kind of trick was this now? Her brother had tried to cheer her up in Freds name the entire week. What had he come up with now? A portkey that would dump her into a pool???!

"Very funny! Wait until I get you!"

Tonks had a lot on her mind. Ever since being kidnapped by the Mad Hatter, she'd been deep in thought. It wasn't exactly that she'd been avoiding Marcus, not exactly. It was more that she just didn't quite know how to think. It had been way too good to see the Ranger, and she was starting to suspect that things might be getting difficult.

So, not wanting to run into him, she'd put on her bright pink bathing suit, a muggle style bathrobe, also pink, and of course, her hair was the same brilliant color that she normally favored. A swim, that would be lovely. Of course, the last time she'd gone for a swim, she'd ended up running into Fred and George, but that probably couldn't happen again, since they were already there.

She entered the room, the chlorine smell clear in the air, and glanced around. No one else was around, which suited her just fine. However, it wasn't long before a loud, cracking sound split the air, and something splashed into the water. She sighed and shook her head. "Bloody hell, another one?"

Flicking her wand, she reached out with it and magically hooked whoever was in the water out of it. Red hair, damp, but that's all she really caught. "Poor bugger. I'm Tonks, who are you and where are you from? It's been awhile since I had to greet someone."

Ginny felt herself being lifted out of the water. It didn't surprise her at all. She turned around, expecting a laughing George to stand infront of her. Instead she looked at an all too familiar face surrounded by vivid pink hair. Her eyes grew wide and the anger turned into confusion.

"OMG", she muttered silently. Then her expression changed back into one of anger.

"That's so NOT funny, George!" What had gotten into him? Now he was using Polyjuice Potion to look like Tonks??? How could he? They had just been at her funeral 2 days ago.

Her eyes started to get teary, but she swallowed and frowned. She wouldn't cry! Instead she pulled her wand out of her back pocket and waved it to dry her clothes.

"Where are we?", she then asked trying to calm herself down. "Do mom and dad know about this portkey?" They'd be so pissed if they didn't.

The witch gasped, managing only to carefully set the girl down gently on teh ground before she took a hasty step back, tripped over a deck chair, and landed up flat on her ass, looking up at the ceiling. "Ow." She shook her head clear, did her best to struggle to her feet. In the process, she pulled several other chairs onto herself. Even for the young Auror, this was an impressive display of clumsiness.

Finally, she got to her feet, only a little rumpled but otherwise not at all the worse for wear. "Must have hit my head harder than I thought..." She tried to shake her offending head clear. No way she'd just seen Ginny arrive... Ginny was already here! And much older than this girl. She tilted her head to the side thoughtfully.

"Wotcher, Ginny looking person. I know you're not Ginny, though, so you might as well stop looking like her." She smiled, quickly recovering from the surprise. "I'm not George, and I'm doing something really bloody wrong if I look like him. A big fan of pink, is he?" She shook her head. "Well, anyway, you'd best tell me who you are so I can show you around, explain how things work around here."

Ginny stared at Tonks as she clumsily knocked herself and some chairs down. This was so like Tonks! But it couldn't be her! Could George or anyone else imitate Tonks like that?

"What?", she asked when Tonks, or whoever pretended to be her, spoke.

"I'm definitely me! I'm Ginny Weasley. But who the hell are you?" Ginny quickly glanced around. This situation was so weird and she didn't fancy her mother showing up and catching her swearing. But nothing happened.

"I know you're not Tonks. I was at your - HER - funeral 2 days ago!", she almost shouted. She was starting to think that this wasn't one of Georges tricks. He could be bad, but he surely wouldn't make fun using a dead person, not after the week they had.

"Why are you doing this and where are we?"

The witch blinked and looked down at herself. She sure didn't look dead, and was pretty sure she hadn't hurt herself badly enough to have killed herself. Anyway, this Ginny person had said that her funeral had already happened two days ago. She frowned and her brow burrowed as she thought. This was just too weird.

"I saw Ginny, though, she's much older than you are! You're just a kid! Ginny is... what do you mean, my funeral? Clearly, I'm not dead!" She walked over, took the young redheads hand in her own. "I'm Tonks, and I'm not dead! Why do you Ginny people always insist on telling me that I'm dead?"

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Two days ago, I was here in Mirage. I'm not dead, I can promise you that much. I was taken almost three weeks ago. The old Ginny knew a lot more about things than I did, I think she was taken later..."

She shook her head. "I'm not sure I'm making any sense. Hello, Ginny, lovely to see you again. I'm Tonks, this is Mirage, and Snape, as well as Fred and George, are around somewhere. I don't know where the other Ginny went, but she was around." She frowned. "It has been a few days, though, maybe she's gone...?"

Ginny stared at Tonks unbelievingly. This just didn't make sense.

"I'm Ginny! And why would I be older?" If this was supposed to be a joke it was a really bad one. "I'm not a kid anymore." Noone was after the war. "I'm almost 17." It were just a few weeks and she'd be a legal adult. But how many weeks? She'd lost track of time. A war could do that to you. Birthdays just didn't seem important anymore.

She then gulped. "Tonks and Remus funeral", she said, still to really believing that Tonks could actually be standing right infront of her.

When Tonks took her hand Ginny looked at it and then up into her face. She so wanted to believe that it was her. But how could she be sure? She had to ask her something that only Tonks would know. But what?

"What's the form of your patronus? How did George lose his ear? Who is Snuffles?" Maybe someone else could answer one of the questions but not all of them... hopefully.

Ginny tilted her head. "Mirage? What's that?" Then she froze. "Snape is here? Fred?" She blinked. "All dead... is George dead, too? Am I dead?"

The witch shook her head slightly, a smile settling over her lips. "I think the last Ginny must have gone back, or else you're both here but I don't think the Planet would allow that..." She laughed and ran toward the younger witch, and it was likely she would have tripped if it hadn't been only a few steps. The older, pink-haired witch wrapped her in a tight hug.

"This is sort of like your welcome all over again, because you haven't been here before, have you? And it's funny, because I was the one here when the first Ginny arrived, too." She grinned down at the little redhead and then hugged her tightly again. "It's so nice to see you again!"

Finally, she released her and stepped back. "Um, sorry!" She even rolled her eyes a little at the barrage of questions. "My patronus is a chameleon, has been since I could first summon one. I don't know how George lost his ear, I didn't know he did, actually. I was taken before that, and I think he was, too, because he has his ear. Snuffles? I don't have a clue, sorry."

She sighed and tried again. "Look, we were all taken at different times, so you probably remember things that never happened for us. Yes, Snape and Fred and George are all here, and no, you're not dead." She rolled her eyes again, but was still smiling. "Bloody hell, I don't know what it is with Ginny looking people and their obsessions with death. I'm not dead, I left before that happened..." She frowned. "Wait. Remus? Why did we have a funeral together?" That was a little tidbit she hadn't learned from the other Ginny.

"Oy!" George's voice rang out over the grassy meadows, wafting in the direction of the mountains to his right and disappearing into the forest about a hundred yards ahead of him. Adjusting his grip on the handle of his broom subtly, he rocketted up to where his brother was hovering in the air of a fine day.

Fred glanced in his direction for a second before his eyes resumed staring at the sight of a long, rather straight stick flying off into the woods where the lads had originally found it. That stick could have been another broom, save for the stabilising twigs at one end, if... "Wonder why they keep going back to the forest," he complained aloud.

George shrugged. So far the two of them had managed to make various branches fly but once airborne, the sticks were uncontrollable. There was a lot more work to do but right now his stomach rumbled. "Let's go have tea," he suggested. "Nothing like tea and strategy, right?"

"Right." Fred agreed and flew in the direction of the resort, leaving the meadows behind in no time. George dashed away with his brother, the two of them coming in over the ordered rows of vines. They descended, their feet almost brushing the roof of the garage beneath them, as they headed toward a landing in the courtyard containing the plaque all newcomers had to read.

Little did they suspect who the most recent arrival might be as they dismounted and walked toward the building.

Ginny followed Tonks and listened to her. "I thought he would be", she said. She just couldn't picture him any other way. "I hope I won't run into him anytime soon."

She then suddenly heard the familiar sound of flying brooms and looked up. A smile immediately appeared on her lips at the familiar sight of her older brothers. They were really here. Fred was really here!

She started waving wildly. "It's Fred and George", she called and grinned at Tonks.

She wasn't usually as oblivious as she was being today, despite what her attitude might suggest. She never could have made it as an Auror if she didn't have some skill at paying attention. Today, however, though she wasn't tripping any more than usual, she was clearly out of it. Almost in a daze, really.

"Yeah, bloody useless git, don't like him..." Which was an unusually harsh thing for the witch to say about anyone, even someone as generally loathed as Professor Severus Snape. But she wasn't in a good mood.

She really was out of it, she didn't even notice Fred and George swooping around on broomstick. Ginny's comment had her glancing up, literally falling over, and then scrambling up to join Ginny in her waving. Sure, she was a little less enthusiastic, but that was only compared to how she usually was. "Hey! Fred, George! Wotcher!"

On any normal day, the twins would no doubt have noticed Tonks first. Not only was she bright and pretty, not to mention having a great personality, but today their jaws dropped in a rare display of surprised Gred and Forge at the sight of a certain redheaded girl.

They hesitated long enough to exchange glances and quick grins. The two of them rushed forward, their lanky legs carrying them as fast as they had ever moved over ground.

"Ginny!" they exclaimed together.

"Who does?", Ginny muttered. She knew Snape was on their side somehow, but that didn't mean she had to like him.

She then grinned widely when Fred and George landed and ran towards her. It was so good to see them both together and especially to see Fred alive and smiling.

She rushed forward and threw herself into Freds arms, hugging him tightly as if she never wanted to let him go again. "Fred", she said happily. "I missed you!" She then glanced up and reluctantly let go of him. He'd probably tease her forever if she kept hugging him any longer.

Ginny then turned to George and glanced at his ear. Still there. She grinned and hugged him as well. Not that tightly as she had just seen him about an hour ago. But she still felt happy to see him 'whole'.

Tonks wasn't her normal self, and really, she wasn't even trying. She watched the reunion of the Weasley's, and while she was glad to see them together, it also made her hurt. It might sound odd, but then, none of her family was here. She sighed softly, even as she was smiling just a tiny bit.

"Right then. Fred, George, you're taking over welcoming committee. I'm off. Got things to do." Which was a lie, really. She just needed to be alone and to process all this. She grabbed Ginny by the arm and pulled her close for another warm hug. "This time, stay around, okay? Older Ginny was confusing enough."

She released the girls, smiled and waved at Fred and George, and turned to go. It wasn't that she wasn't happy to see all of them, she just needed to be alone and figure this out.

"Sure you're alright, Tonks luv?" George wondered but she seemed to not hear him. He turned his attention back to Ginny and Fred immediately, shrugging slightly.

Meanwhile Fred was staring at his sister as curiously as he ever looked. "We can't have been gone for that long," he began teasing. "I mean, she looks and sounds like our sis but what was that hug for?" He had a great big grin on his face and Weasley twins could smile every bit as brightly as the sun.

This time Ginny hugged Tonks back happily. "I'm not going without you", Ginny said. If she went back she wanted to take her and Fred with her. She however wasn't sure what would happen to George then. He already was back home. Well, she'd have to figure all of this out. It was too weird right now.

"You better don't disappear on me either, Tonks!", she added.

Then she turned back to her brothers. Glancing up at Fred she wondered what she should answer. Tonks didn't really seem to be that happy about knowing that she was dead back home. Maybe she should just keep it to herself this time?

"Just glad to have my annoying older brothers here with me", she said. It wasn't even a lie. She really was happy.

Looking at them she then wondered when they were brought here. It definitely was before George lost his ear. Probably over a year ago.

"When were you brought here?", she asked. "I mean at what time did you leave home."

They gathered around Ginny a bit closer now that the three Weasleys had been left to focus on each other. The boys still held their brooms but they had almost completely forgotten this.

"The year after we left Hogwarts," Fred told her, happy-serious in his tone.

"Not long after Dumbledore's funeral," George refined the timing, serious-happy as his eyes studied Ginny. "How old are you now, Ginny?"

Fred inclined his head curiously. "What happened with the war?" he wondered, dropping his usual levity.

"Let's go talk in our room," George suggested. "Have a cuppa like civilised, posh folk."

Ginny listened and nodded. "That was about a year ago", she said. In some ways it felt like yesterday, that they had been at Dumbledore funeral and in another way it felt like a lifetime. So much had happened during the past year.

"I'm 16, almost 17 now", she said. Then she smiled slightly. "The war is over", she said relieved. It was horrible, but it was finally over. "We won. Harry defeated Voldemort last week. It's weird to tell you that. You were there." She still couldn't understand how people could be here from the past and still have been back home.

She then nodded. A cup of tea sounded good.

"Where's you room?", she asked looking around. "Will I get one near yours?"

Fred and George gave each other bemused glances as she said they had been (or were to be in the future?) at the end of the war.

"In other circumstances we'd think you're as nutters as Ron," Fred said, getting back to a mix of teasing and serious.

"Except we're all being somehow kidnapped by a planet that appears to be sentient. Hang on, you haven't seen the plaque, have you?" Wondering this, George and Fred flanked the red-headed girl to escort her to the wall where she could read the message to all newcomers.

"We'll find out about your room too," George promised.

Ginny frowned at Fred, but then shrugged. "Maybe I am. I'm in a completely different place and am talking to dead people. That could count as nutters, right?" She then sighed. Hopefully she hadn't said too much now.

"No, I haven't seen that", she said and quickly walked with her brothers.

"So, what is it like here?", she then asked trying to find something to talk about and keep her brothers from asking about the dead people.

"What, this thing?" Fred asked as he poured tea after tapping the pot to warm up the liquid in it. "We thought tea could be at once posh and fun."

George took the first cup and passed it to Ginny. "I don't know which to ask about first: Mum getting the Lestrange bitch or Percy quitting his job. Biscuits?" He shook the tin.

Ginny smiled. "With you everything is posh and especially fun, isn't it?", she said. When Fred put the pot down again Ginny poked the pot with her finger and then waved the finger infront of the roses eyes on the pot, watching as they moved.

She then put her hands around the warm cup of tea and smelled it. It smelled good!

At the mention of biscuits Ginnys stomach started to grumble. "Yes, please", she said noticing for the first time how hungry she was. She hadn't managed to eat much over the last days. With all the funerals food just didn't seem to taste good at all.

"How about we talk about something else?", Ginny suggested. Thinking about the rest of her family made her feel a bit uneasy. What if she really was stuck here and would never see them again? And talking about the war was still hard as well. She'd tell them another time.

"What did you do since you came here and what is this place like? Are there muggles here?"

The lads couldn't help but feel good about a compliment of that magnitude coming from Ginny! They grinned at her and watched her poking the tea pot. The eyes swivelled and darted. It was a good thing they hadn't given the pot a mouth, especially a mouth with teeth.

And the tea cups weren't of the biting variety either.

George nodded at her request to discuss other things while Fred put a stack of biscuits in front of himself from the opened tin centered between the three of them.

"We're continuing our work, of course," Fred commented. "And there are muggles here, yes indeed."

"We also flew around trying to get out and the planet just pushes or pulls us back," George added. "Now that you're here, you can help us. Family businesses are the best businesses."

"Yes, we will make a broom for you. And everything here is a work-in-progress."

"Maybe we need to have a party or set up a Quidditch game?"

Ginny was thinking the same. She then peered at the pot more closely. "There isn't a mouth hidden somewhere that will bite me, is there?", she asked. With the twins you could never know. They might think it was funny.

Helping herself to some biscuits Ginny started to eat. They really tasted good. "Mhhm", she mumbled. "They almost taste like moms."

She then frowned at the news. The planet didn't seem to want to let anyone leave. They would have to work hard to get away then. She'd think of something. But not right now.

She then grinned. "You'd let me help with your work?", she asked excitedly. They mostly had kept everything secret. But that was probably because of their mother. She didn't really approve of anything Fred & George invented. Well, until it made money. But Ginny hadn't been allowed to the shop alone. That however could be because of the war.

Ginny glanced at all the interesting things laying around. She could hardly wait to inspect them closely and try to figure them out.

Hearing about the broom Ginnys smile widened. "A Weasley broom. Sounds great to me", she said.

"That sounds good. Some fun would be nice. And we could test some of your new inventions at a party", she said looking innocently at her brothers before putting another biscuit in her mouth.

The brothers hunched over the table a bit, moving a little closer to their sister and to forming a new club of Weasley conspirators. For the moment they let all questions go unasked, surrounded by the invisible armour of their strong family connection and love.

"Not merely test them," Fred pointed out, biting into one of the biscuits. "We might as well put on a bloody good show."

"I'm sure everyone here could use a bit of distraction," George seconded. "And there's a restaurant here, luv. You look hungry," he observed.

Ginny glanced from Fred to George and back. Then she grinned widely. She knew the looks on their faces. They always looked like that when they were planning something. Ginny had the feeling that they would let her in on their plans from now on, which she really liked.

She then laughed. If anyone knew how to make a really good show it would be them.

"A distraction sounds good." She knew she could do with one. Not that being here with people she thought she had lost wasn't a distraction already. But a really fun one was always welcome.
