WHAT :: kidnapping
WHEN :: afternoon tea - 4.pm
WHERE :: ballroom
RATING:: TBD
STATUS:: In Progress

Upon arrival to this place the Hatter had been eccentric and crazy, to be sure, but for the most part he was still generally harmless. Hard to understand sometimes, curious, and still rather friendly. Alice's arrival, though he had yet to see the girl, had greatly impacted him. His very existence was thought to hinge on her, and when she arrived -- not of sound mind due to her stay at the asylum -- he reverted ever so slightly back into his old ways. He had become a degenerate - twisted, violent, and cruel when she had been at her worst, and had changed back to this when Wonderland had mended, but she was of a time prior to that healing. So he was not quite so bad, but he'd remained in his room creating all manner of things, some decidedly less pleasant then others. At this point, Dahak had needed only give him a small push to drive him further from the pleasant state of madness to something more sinister, and a push is what he got. The change was quite clear.

His face was white as ever with black around his eyes, the dark red of his lips smeared, and no smile gracing his features as his reptilian aids put the finishing touches on the room. He had taken over the ballroom, and had it changed to his liking. Dark, polished wooden floors, rich crimson and gold wall paper blackened on the bottom as if they had survived a fire, and were covered in flames of soot. At the far end of the room on a small platform where it was assumed a band was meant to be placed was the alter he had been promised, a pink table cloth thrown over it, and set with a number of cakes and tea kettles, and cups piled randomly. Nothing matched, some were broken. The five chairs (three along the wall looking out on the ballroom, one on either end) were mismatched as well, wooden - small - large - cushioned - colored - one even rested crooked with one of the legs sawed off. No never mind to the rows of lovely velvet covered chairs lined on either side of the room in wait. The tittering sound of movement could be heard echoing around the room, but if you looked, you'd never catch his mechanical associates at play. The large columns placed around the ballroom housed the ticking creatures, lying in wait to stop any uninvited guests from joining the party.

As for him, his hat and coat were both a dark shade of blue. The coat fell just past his knees, brushing against black dress pants, and a lighter blue shirt. A cane with a tea kettle on top of it had been adopted for this occasion as well. Now there was simply the matter of waiting for his guests to arrive, which should be any time now. He had left a gift at their door this morning.

Two mechanical rabbits toys, covered in brown fir, with large button eyes, and a pleasant green jacket. They had reminded him of the March Hare. They sat beside each door until it was opened, at which point they whirred to life, and presented the women with a small envelope.

You have hereby been invited to tea at promptly 4 o'clock in the ballroom.
Attendance is required. The Hare will escort you.
Very Merry Unbirthday.
Hatter.

While the note was pulled out and read the rabbits would move closer, long ears wrapping for a moment around the reader's wrists like handcuffs, the mechanical grip strong enough to restrain the women while the hare fastened manacles to their ankles. Their feet would be pulled out from under them, the rabbit (still holding their wrists) would move forward and drag them on their backs towards the ballroom. The ballroom where Hatter waited tipping droplets of poison into some of the tea. Not all of it, and the poison would only serve to make his guests sleepy, perhaps to the level of near coma if too much was taken, but not to kill. It was terribly dishonest of him as a host to ruin the tea like this, but it would be easiest for them to sleep when time came to place them on the table-alter as he'd been instructed.

Emma had only been in Mirage for a couple of days and had been sticking to her room, since meeting Haruka. She knew she should probably get out more and maybe meet some of the other people inhabiting the place. They were all in the same predicament, after all.

Emma's train of thought was interrupted by a knock at the door. Huh. Maybe it was Haruka? Smiling to herself, Emma made her way to the door, expecting to see her new friend behind it. Much to her surprise, she didn't see Haruka. There was a bunny at the door. That was new. Wondering what the bunny was for, Emma spotted the note in its hands and took it, reading it. Tea, huh? The Mad Hatter? That was definitely someone new, but Emma decided to check it out. What was the harm?

Funny, how that worked. Much to her shock, she suddenly found herself on the ground, with both her wrists and ankles bound. Yeah, so NOT COOL. Getting dragged to the ballroom was not her idea of fun. Wide-eyed and somewhat peeved, Emma took in her surroundings. "This is some kind of joke, right?" She was fairly certain it wasn't, but then again, she could be wrong. Right?

Tonks had arrived first, and he noted she didn't seem to appreciate her escort. He saw no reason to be so upset. Really, he saved her the trouble of walking here, and did his best to make them look nice. "I couldn't have you arrive late. There are no prizes for tardiness." He motioned for the mechanical hare to bring her towards the table. It promptly began dragging her in that direction as Emma was pulled into the room.

Hatter shushed her, not appreciating the rudeness from his guests. "I'll be with you in a moment." He said, calling for Tonks' escort to stop while he dashed to her again, flipping the witch over to pluck the wand from her pocket. "Pardon me, but it is likely he will require this." He was a polite kidnapper at the least. Tucking the wand behind his ear, he returned to Emma.

"I am the Hatter. Thank you for arriving on time. What is your name girl?" He asked before motioning for the rabbits to take them to their seats. They had little choice in the matter, placed in the the two cushioned green and violet chairs, the manacles fastened to the legs of the chairs. Their arms were left free though, allowing them to enjoy the many cakes, teas, and little finger sandwiches.

"Tell me, Lady Tonks," Hatter sat at the head of the table, having nothing in particular he was meant to do with them until it came time to place them on the alter. "What do you know of dark magic and black flames?" He asked, still curious as to how Dahak had done some of what he did. Especially the throwing of the girl without touching her. It had been somewhat impressive.
