WHO :: Hatter.Tonks.Emma
WHAT :: kidnapping
WHEN :: afternoon tea - 4.pm
WHERE :: ballroom
RATING:: TBD
STATUS:: In Progress

Upon arrival to this place the Hatter had been eccentric and crazy, to be sure, but for the most part he was still generally harmless. Hard to understand sometimes, curious, and still rather friendly. Alice's arrival, though he had yet to see the girl, had greatly impacted him. His very existence was thought to hinge on her, and when she arrived -- not of sound mind due to her stay at the asylum -- he reverted ever so slightly back into his old ways. He had become a degenerate - twisted, violent, and cruel when she had been at her worst, and had changed back to this when Wonderland had mended, but she was of a time prior to that healing. So he was not quite so bad, but he'd remained in his room creating all manner of things, some decidedly less pleasant then others. At this point, Dahak had needed only give him a small push to drive him further from the pleasant state of madness to something more sinister, and a push is what he got. The change was quite clear.

His face was white as ever with black around his eyes, the dark red of his lips smeared, and no smile gracing his features as his reptilian aids put the finishing touches on the room. He had taken over the ballroom, and had it changed to his liking. Dark, polished wooden floors, rich crimson and gold wall paper blackened on the bottom as if they had survived a fire, and were covered in flames of soot. At the far end of the room on a small platform where it was assumed a band was meant to be placed was the alter he had been promised, a pink table cloth thrown over it, and set with a number of cakes and tea kettles, and cups piled randomly. Nothing matched, some were broken. The five chairs (three along the wall looking out on the ballroom, one on either end) were mismatched as well, wooden - small - large - cushioned - colored - one even rested crooked with one of the legs sawed off. No never mind to the rows of lovely velvet covered chairs lined on either side of the room in wait. The tittering sound of movement could be heard echoing around the room, but if you looked, you'd never catch his mechanical associates at play. The large columns placed around the ballroom housed the ticking creatures, lying in wait to stop any uninvited guests from joining the party.

As for him, his hat and coat were both a dark shade of blue. The coat fell just past his knees, brushing against black dress pants, and a lighter blue shirt. A cane with a tea kettle on top of it had been adopted for this occasion as well. Now there was simply the matter of waiting for his guests to arrive, which should be any time now. He had left a gift at their door this morning.

Two mechanical rabbits toys, covered in brown fir, with large button eyes, and a pleasant green jacket. They had reminded him of the March Hare. They sat beside each door until it was opened, at which point they whirred to life, and presented the women with a small envelope.

You have hereby been invited to tea at promptly 4 o'clock in the ballroom.
Attendance is required. The Hare will escort you.
Very Merry Unbirthday.
Hatter.

While the note was pulled out and read the rabbits would move closer, long ears wrapping for a moment around the reader's wrists like handcuffs, the mechanical grip strong enough to restrain the women while the hare fastened manacles to their ankles. Their feet would be pulled out from under them, the rabbit (still holding their wrists) would move forward and drag them on their backs towards the ballroom. The ballroom where Hatter waited tipping droplets of poison into some of the tea. Not all of it, and the poison would only serve to make his guests sleepy, perhaps to the level of near coma if too much was taken, but not to kill. It was terribly dishonest of him as a host to ruin the tea like this, but it would be easiest for them to sleep when time came to place them on the table-alter as he'd been instructed.

She'd already been out for the day, and had come back to think about what she wanted to do for the evening, which was approaching quickly. Maybe change into something else, or at least her hair, and then head out to see what this new resort had to offer. She hadn't spent too much time exploring it, really, and would like to see more. Maybe, she thought idly to herself as she stood in front of the mirror trying on different hair colors and seeing how they matched the clothing she was wearing, she would go to the next room and see if Marcus wanted to come explore.

Yeah, that's what she'd do... her pleasant musings were cut off by a knock on her door. Speak of the devil. She had no doubt it was Marcus who was knocking at her door. Who else would it be? So her wand stayed right where it was, in her back pocket. Being on Mirage for as long as she had, she'd not been practicing her Auror skills. There was a time, not so very long ago, when she never would have answered the door without her wand ready. But now, she opened it, and there was a wide smile of welcome on her face.

She was surprised when it was a large bunny, but not horribly worried. It was kind of cute, actually. And holding out a note. She took it, read it over. She remembered the Hatter, actually, and sure, why not? She'd go to tea. Of course, she was soon to realize that she didn't exactly have a choice, and before she could make even a move for her wand, she was flat on her back, restrained, and screaming bloody murder as she was dragged down the hallway, out of her dorm, and toward the ballroom.

Arriving there, she was dumped on the ground, but the damned rabbit was still holding her. That didn't stop her from looking around, dark eyes narrowed slightly as she took in the details of where she was, and the set up. She'd gotten into this mess by not being the Auror, but that had changed. It wasn't the first time she'd been kidnapped, of course. She was pretty sure she could handle it. If only she could get to her wand...

"You didn't have to do all this, you know. I would have come here if you just asked."

The pink-haired witch grumbled slightly as she addressed the Hatter. But something looked different with him. She'd quite liked him the first time they met, but now... he scared her more than a little.

Emma had only been in Mirage for a couple of days and had been sticking to her room, since meeting Haruka. She knew she should probably get out more and maybe meet some of the other people inhabiting the place. They were all in the same predicament, after all.

Emma's train of thought was interrupted by a knock at the door. Huh. Maybe it was Haruka? Smiling to herself, Emma made her way to the door, expecting to see her new friend behind it. Much to her surprise, she didn't see Haruka. There was a bunny at the door. That was new. Wondering what the bunny was for, Emma spotted the note in its hands and took it, reading it. Tea, huh? The Mad Hatter? That was definitely someone new, but Emma decided to check it out. What was the harm?

Funny, how that worked. Much to her shock, she suddenly found herself on the ground, with both her wrists and ankles bound. Yeah, so NOT COOL. Getting dragged to the ballroom was not her idea of fun. Wide-eyed and somewhat peeved, Emma took in her surroundings. "This is some kind of joke, right?" She was fairly certain it wasn't, but then again, she could be wrong. Right?

Tonks had arrived first, and he noted she didn't seem to appreciate her escort. He saw no reason to be so upset. Really, he saved her the trouble of walking here, and did his best to make them look nice. "I couldn't have you arrive late. There are no prizes for tardiness." He motioned for the mechanical hare to bring her towards the table. It promptly began dragging her in that direction as Emma was pulled into the room.

Hatter shushed her, not appreciating the rudeness from his guests. "I'll be with you in a moment." He said, calling for Tonks' escort to stop while he dashed to her again, flipping the witch over to pluck the wand from her pocket. "Pardon me, but it is likely he will require this." He was a polite kidnapper at the least. Tucking the wand behind his ear, he returned to Emma.

"I am the Hatter. Thank you for arriving on time. What is your name girl?" He asked before motioning for the rabbits to take them to their seats. They had little choice in the matter, placed in the the two cushioned green and violet chairs, the manacles fastened to the legs of the chairs. Their arms were left free though, allowing them to enjoy the many cakes, teas, and little finger sandwiches.

"Tell me, Lady Tonks," Hatter sat at the head of the table, having nothing in particular he was meant to do with them until it came time to place them on the alter. "What do you know of dark magic and black flames?" He asked, still curious as to how Dahak had done some of what he did. Especially the throwing of the girl without touching her. It had been somewhat impressive.

Tonks looked up as another girl entered the room, also brought by a giant bunny. Oh, Merlin, Mad-Eye Moody would never let her live this one down. Kidnapped by a dark wizard was one thing, but a rabbit? Just not something that an Auror should have happen. She tried to make eye contact with the girl, but she was too busy looking around. Fair enough.

"I'm actually good without a prize, thanks..." She squawked when she felt her wand being pulled out of her pocket. She needed that. That was becoming increasingly clear. Her Auror instincts were kicking in. Unfortunately, there wasn't much she could do without her wand. "Hey, that's mine! Give it back."

And then, of course, she was being shuttled over to the table. She was pretty sure she didn't like this new Hatter. The old one had been friendly, she'd enjoyed speaking with him. This new one, though, was seeming a bit off to her. Not someone she was liking nearly as much. She sat down, not that she had a choice, and looked around at the food.

"I'm not eating anything." She stated clearly, just to keep there from being any confusion. It just didn't strike her as the best idea, given how she'd been taken, and how strange the hatter was behaving. "What dark flames?" Her natural curiousity was piqued. "I can make blue flames, but I don't do dark magic. That's not very nice, is it?"

Sidney was dumped outside the doorway by a giant bunny, given her history she was not taking things very well indeed. She had been held at gunpoint and kidnapped by a nut in a Ghostface outfit twice inside 2 years and it showed. The frail brunette looked as freaked out as she felt, a massive and long overdue breakdown was looming.

But the bunny had tied her up since she had on instict fought back, her arms covered in bruises from the ties since her jeans helped cover her legs from the worst of things. Sidney may not know much about magic beyond movies but she was more street smart than most. Granted outside of her time in the kitchen a couple of days before with the blonde named Felica and her meeting Ianto she had kept to herself. Nobody besides Ianto and Felica (she only knew a bare portion of what happened) knew the truth about her past and having to shoot twice in self defense.

She fought against the bonds as she spotted two other women, one she figured was about her age (Emma) and the other a bit older but Sidney did like her hair (Tonks). Her eyes were bugging out as she was flooded with memories of her nightmare, that being Ghostface back in her world. Her brain was being filled with quotes from all the old movies she had been watching since landing on the planet.

(ooc: Sidney was just added to this group so feel free to spot her Tonks and Emma muns, Hatter mun is free to have a mental field day with her and hopefully I gave you enough to work with. Let me know if more info or backstory is needed!)

Emma was about to answer the Hatter's question, when she noticed another girl being dragged into the room. Oh, this wasn't good. She was tempted to use her powers to calm the girl down, but she decided to hold off for now. If she was going to use her powers, it was best to use them when they were alone. Just in case it happened to backfire. No sense in setting off the Hatter's internal alarm.

Turning back to the Hatter, Emma fixed him with a hard gaze. She didn't like being called girl. "Emma," she replied. One word answers should suffice. She flicked her gaze to Tonks and the new girl once more, before settling back on the Hatter. There was a chance she could command the Hatter to let them go, but since she didn't know what his mind was like, there was a good chance it wouldn't work. Emma held off, for the moment.

"Not eating?" He looked almost hurt, gaze flickering to the many cakes and the assortment of tea, no mention of her wand. "I had the golems bring their best, it is terribly rude of you." Hatter scolded, tempted to do something about it, but her reply to his question of flames made him forget for the moment. Dark magic, was it? "I thought it felt nice. The girl didn't but --" His eyes narrowed at the sound of someone else entering the room.

"Late." Hatter rose from his seat, strolling towards Sydney with a none too pleasant gaze. "You are LATE." He gave the woman a prod in the leg with his cane. "You have an escort, should have been on time, and you are late!"

He turned away from the rabbit and frightened woman at hearing Emma speak. "I'll deal with you later." He snarled at Sydney, leaving her bound on the floor for the time being.

"Emma. Very well. Please, enjoy the tea." Hatter stated, seating himself again, looking to his two on time guests.

Before the Auror had really any chance to reply, another person was brought in. She sighed, and rubbed at her temples irritatedly. How many people was this strange man going to force to his little tea party? And what sort of motive did he have behind this? Why was he doing things this way?

To be honest, she was having a hard time letting go of the old vision she had of the Mad Hatter. He'd seemed a bit odd, true, when she'd met with him before, but at least he'd seemed mostly benign. She realized, though, as she saw the other girl left on the floor, that she really had to let go of this. He was a threat, just as every dark wizard or creature she'd ever faced was. It was with this in mind that she decided to play along.

"Yeah, sorry, I was really rude there, wasn't I? And I didn't even introduce myself to your other friends." Once more, she tried to catch the first girl's eye, and then the other one. "I'm Tonks, who are you guys?"

She was trying for a casual tone, and hoped she was pulling it off. She even reached out to take one of the little sandwitches, and raised her teacup to her lips. She wasn't stupid enough to drink, though, and kept her lips firmly closed so none of the liquid got in.

Sidney was quickly slipping into a mental and emotional meltdown and in spades. She was still fighting against the bonds but had just as quickly slipped into a state of meekly accepting what was happening. But she somehow forced herself to speak to Tonks,"Sidney" her voice a shaky whisper. Her eyes were the biggest clues into what was going on inside her head.

To Sidney's raw mind Hatter was Ghostface all over again and it showed. She had fought back against the giant bunny but it was pure gut instict and that led to her being bound. But now anyone that knew mental problems could easily see Sidney was basically on the mental edge of an inner cliff that had been almost a year in the making after the first round of Ghostface. *I deserve this* she finally realized.
