Aragorn and Legolas had spent most of the night and morning hours awake, talking, just staying close. They knew they would need their rest, so Aragorn dozed off in the arms of the elf, while Legolas fell into the waking reverie of his people, that was close to sleep and yet very different. Aragorn had never understood it, being a human. But, suddenly, Aragorn had awoken with a jolt, sweat covered his body and his breathing was harsh.

Something.. the feeling of dread and danger was so bad right now he felt like he was suffocating on it. He felt he couldn't breathe. Silently, quickly he moved from the bed and let the Elf continue in his rest. Though he could tell the thoughts of the elf were dark, troubled. And he didn't really want to leave him, but he couldn't stay in bed any longer.

Focus, he told himself as he looked at Legolas. He was so close to doing something he should not. And he was shaking needing to breathe, needing to clear his head, free his mind so he could focus. So he decided to go for a walk. Maybe get breakfast and even bring some to the Elf. He left quietly, planning to get back quickly. Not wanting to be apart just in case.

He found his way to a small place with food, a cafe. Not that he knew what it was and as he walked in he looked at the array of food and didn't know what it was. He frowned, pursing his lips quite confused. What was a scone?

The wide blue eyes of the maiden opened that morning and then immediately closed. A look of pain and anguish crossed her unmarred features, briefly distorting them. She clutched at her stomach and rolled onto her side, clamping her lips shut against a wave of nausea that hit her so suddenly she almost couldn't keep it down. She groaned and a few rabbits that had been resting at the foot of the bed perked their ears and hopped toward her.

After a moment of holding her stomach, she felt like she might be able to get up and get to the restroom. She lurched from the bed into the washroom and fell on her knees at the base of the porcelain throne. She retched several times before she felt like there was nothing left in her stomach to throw up. Shivering lightly, she pulled herself into the tub and turned on the water.

She just lay there for a time before she felt well enough to wash and get ready for the day. Removing herself from the tub, she stood in front of her armoire and allowed herself to be dressed by the various animals fluttering and hopping around her. They threw a dark blue satin gown over her head and helped her into matching slippers. Her hair was then twisted and plaited so that half of her hair was up and the other half hung down to the middle of her back.

Deciding that it might be safe to put a little food in her stomach, she headed down to the cafe. She entered quietly and tilted her head as she saw a long haired man peering at the foods quizzically. She smiled and stepped up next to him. "You look puzzled. Can I help you with something?" She smiled up at the golems as they approached and she pointed out one of the scones. One with blueberries and a little sugar sprinkled on top. "I'd also like some chamomile tea, please?"

The golem plucked a scone from the display case and handed it to her wrapped in a napkin, along with a paper cup full of tea with a plastic sippy lid on it.

Aragorn was lost deep within thought as he looked at the food but wasn't seeing it. The sense of dread he had been feeling, the sense of something dangerous coming was so strong now. And he could feel it so deeply. He was trying to figure out the best way to approach this with Legolas when a soft voice interrupted his thoughts.

Turning his head the dark haired Ranger looked at the woman now beside of him as she took the pastry and cup. He raised a brow remembering he had just been wondering what it was. "I'm afraid that this is all quite new to me." Aragorn admitted though he sounded slightly distracted. It was nothing against her he just felt quite odd.

He wondered if it was anything like Elfin bread so he looked to the golem nodding "I'll take one of those." As he was handed it he eyed it like he expected it to bite him or something. He wondered if he should have stayed in and just wished for his breakfast.

Once more his attention was brought to the woman beside of him and he smiled a little. "I'm sorry for I don't mean to sound rude.. just not quite used to the way things work here."

When he spoke of the cafe being new to him, she tilted her head sympathetically and nodded. "Some of it is new to me, as well. But being in New York for a time made things a little easier to understand." Even she, who did not know him, could tell that he was acting strangely. As if he were in some sort of fog, or haze. She didn't feel well herself, and could sympathize.

She pointed to his scone as he took it from the golem. "These are delicious, aren't they?" She was far too chipper, even feeling ill. Some people found it quite annoying. But she didn't know any other way. She prefered to be happy rather than mope about. "Oh! I didn't think you rude at all, Sir." She beamed at him and pointed to the doors that led outside.

"Would you care to eat out on the grass with me? It's such a nice day. I hate to waste it inside." She edged toward the doors, scone and tea in hand and pushed backward through them to the outside. "I'm Giselle, by the way. What may I call you?" A few tables and chairs were arranged on the patio, but she moved past them to a grassy knoll and settled herself down.

She looked up at him and smiled, patting the grass next to her. "I just love meeting new people. Tell me about yourself!"

Being chipper didn't bother Aragorn. In fact it reminded him in many ways of Legolas and his mischievousness. It always made him lighthearted and almost chipper just in a different way. Looking at the pastry within his hand, Aragorn took a small bite, smiling as he found it was indeed quite pleasant.

Aragorn tried hard to shake this feeling that seemed to be taking over and though he smiled it hardly reached his eyes. "Yes they are quite delicious. I haven't had something quite like this."

Aragorn nodded taking his scone and following Giselle outside glad when she bypassed the chairs and tables and headed toward the grass. It was mor ewhat he is used to.

"Nice to meet you Giselle. I am Aragorn son of..." He trailed off. He was getting ready to go into the normal greeting but for some reason he just didn't finish it. Who cared who he was son of? No one here. Except Legolas and he knew. It.. Aragorn took another bite of his scone and looked out at the sky.

"What would you like to know? There is not much interesting to tell I'm afraid." He smiled the chipperness was infectious and though not completely, the young lady was starting to get Aragorn to at least forget about the thoughts in his head.

"I didn't have anything like this until I came here, either. But they have these delicious things I discovered in New York before I came here called donuts! They are sometimes a little too sweet for me, but they are wonderful. Maybe we could get you one from the cafe sometime. I'm sure you'd enjoy it." She rambled on. She enjoyed talking to people, or rather talking at people. But she also liked to hear about their lives.

As she settled down on the grass and he follow suit, she smiled at his introduction. "Aragorn. What a wonderful name. It sounds very strong. It suits you." She stated simply before taking a small bite out of her own crumbly scone. She brushed the crumbs off her dress and took a sip of her tea. It was having very little effect at calming her stomach, however.

"Where do you come from? What is your status in your world? What kinds of food did you eat? What is your family like? Are you married? What kinds of activities did you do as a child?" She continued on with many many more questions, unaware that there was a predator lurking not far from them. She was just focused on keeping her stomach from rolling too much and the answers to her questions.
