Day 02
Who: Lestat and Tonks
What: Arrival of Lestat de Lioncourt
When: After sundown
Where: The Lake
Rating: at least PG13 for now
Status: COMPLETE

Lestat thought that he loved Akasha, but it was her magnificence he loved…her power…himself reflected in her eyes. Her beauty was beyond compare, but he found that it was a beauty with a very ugly side…a beauty that he must end…and so, when the others moved aside, he took Akasha…without hesitation…without pity. Her blood surged with the heat of ancient majesty and power as it burned through every cell of his undead body… “Stop before their heart stops”, he was taught. It was not so this time. No, this time, Lestat was to be a martyr…the Savior of his kind!

No Lestat…Maharet? Maharet will be our savior? So be it! Lestat stepped aside to let the ancient vampiress end Akasha. Fuck it! He didn’t want to die anyway. There was still plenty to do…Questions that needed answering, concerts to give…but for now, he walked over to Jesse and knelt by her; supporting her head with one hand, he raised his other wrist to his mouth and bit into the underside to get the blood freely flowing…this he placed to the girl’s mouth, feeding her from his body…making her like him…

…and then he was kneeling on a pier that jutted out into a large lake in the middle of nowhere. He stood up and looked around cautiously and then he froze…two moons?! Lestat drew his body up and thrust out his chest. His eyes searched the Heavens. Who dared? Only God or Lucifer surely…

This woman was definitely unpredictable...a puzzle…and Lestat liked puzzles. He expected anger or an argument from her. Many in authority, not just the English, that wouldn't be fair...the Americans as well...hated to have their words or authority challenged and here was this perplexing 'Auror', and an English one at that, conceding the point that she may have been rude to him. Then, to throw him totally off, she laughs..."Fine, you win that round, vampire"., she said to him. A ghost of a smile past over Lestat's face and he mused, If I've won anything, that delightful laugh was my prize.

"I was French at one time, Dear Lady, but now, I like to think of myself as a citizen of the world", he repled to her inquiry, "Pleased call me Lestat".

He watched her movements with great interest. She was struggling with a decision...he was tempted to read her mind, but something held him back. Mon Dieu! I think I must respect this woman! I am honoring my word. He would wait and see what she was going to do. This not reading minds was infuriating. Itwas like having a limb removed.

She offered him her hand. Would wonders never cease? She made physical contact with him of her own volition. Cocking an eyebrow, Lestat bowed low and cradled her hand in his palm as gently as if he were catching a feather...then, with his eyes looking deeply into hers, he caressed the back of her hand with a kiss, his lips brushing the skin as lightly as the flutter of butterfly wings, "Enchanté", he purred.

Letting the lovely witch retrieve her hand he smiled when she introduced herself and commented on their meeting. "Tonks", he repeated, "Tonks...", he repeated it again softly, looking at her, "I like it. It suits you and, yes, I believe our meeting is nothing if not weird and interesting...and maybe even...", he tilted his head, "...nice".

She was having the weirdest day. First Austin, and now Lestat, and the sheltered young witch wasn't sure what to do. Though she was an adult, and an Auror, wizard culture was somewhat behind the times, and she was really much more inexperienced than most women of her age would have been, at least with things like this.

The pink-haried witch had to admit, though, as she looked down at the vampire kissing her hand, it wasn't entirely unpleasant. Confusing, yes, but, just as he said... maybe even nice. She could see, though, that he was going to challenge her understand of vampires, and probably, just in general, of people, too. He was different from anyone she'd known before, muggle, wizard, witch, or vampire.

"Thanks, I like your name, too. Right, then, Lestat, I think we'd better get going... I have to much to tell you, and to be honest, I don't know that you're going to like all of it. Just don't shoot the messanger, alright?"

She looked at the unpredictable vampire somewhat uneasily, wondering suddenly how he was going to react to the news she had. Maybe it would be better to let the plaque explain it. He could probably do a lot less damage to it than to her. Turning around and promptly almost tripping over a stick on the ground, she gestured with her hand towards where she was pretty sure the buildings were.
