Legolas had not been alive for almost a thousand years to be outwitted by a mere human, no matter that Aragorn was to be the future King of Gondor. He knew very well that the man was planning something, and a quick conversaton with the sons of Elrond told him exactly what it was. So, the Ranger-King was going to try to take on the Dead themselves, was he? And probably, going to be a noble fool about it all and try to go alone.

He had no interest in allowing one of his good friends to go off alone into hostile territory. Human dead didn't alarm him in the slightest. He couldn't die, not easily, and it was just hard for him to grasp the whole idea. But, in any case, he wasn't about to let Aragorn go alone, and he knew the dwarf Gimli was of the same mind as him. Tomorrow, when the Ranger tried to sneak out, he'd find it harder than he expected, with the sharp elvish eyes watching out for him.

Elves don't sleep, not exactly. Instead, they enter into a state almost of reverie, in which they rest their bodies and refresh their minds by vivid dreams of the past. It was into this wakeful state that the elven prince settled, a small smirk on his lips as he realized just how annoyed Aragorn was going to be to be foiled. Friendship was really a great thing, it lead to so many opportunities to tease someone.

His eyes had never closed, so when the scenery abruptly started to change, he was instantly on alert. Not that it did him much good. Actually, it felt like being in a raging, out-of-control river that was sweeping him along, and all he could do was struggle to stay afloat. The only thing he could do before being carried away was pick up the elven longbow and quiver, and then, everything changed.

He fell a short distance, as if the river of time and space had gotten sick of him and was releasing him. It was only about a couple of feet from the place he had appeared to the ground, but when he landed, he had gracefully twisted his body around so that he landed on his feet. He still had his bow in hand, so he shouldered the quiver of arrows, checked to make sure his knives were loose in their sheathes. When he was properly armed, he took the chance to look around.

Well, he was in Rohan, so it shouldn't have been a surprise to be in stables. Only thing was, he hadn't remembered travelling the distance from their camp to a city, and he was fairly sure that stables were usually a city sort of thing. With a shrug, he jumped up onto a pile of hay to look around.

He was in, as he thought, a large stable. There were rows upon rows of stalls, each with a gorgeous horse in it. A thoughtful look settled onto his face as he jumped down off his perch and headed for a nearby door. Something very odd was going on, and he would hopefully find some answers througth this door. He pushed it open, his keen elven eyes scanning the place. Someone was coming, he thought, from the direction of some nearby buildings. Perhaps they would have answers.

Giselle was delighted when he took her hands and began to sing in harmony. Their words were different, but the meaning of both songs were the same. She could understand every word, and the way he sang was turning her knees to jelly. She was afraid she would turn into a puddle right before his very eyes.

When the song ended and he gazed into her eyes, she was sure she would turn to a quivering mass of goo. But, to her own surprise, she asked him the question she'd been wondering about since she first encountered him. When he tilted her head, she seemed to come out of her daze and she flushed slightly. This man with the strangely pointed ears was so interesting, and they had many things in common.

Her mouth formed an O when he answered her question in the positive. "You ARE?!" She bounced slightly. "I knew it. You just looked so ... royal when I first saw you." She grinned and rocked back and forth on her feet. She was delighted. "I think you are the only prince here." She knew Max wasn't a prince. And she didn't think John, or Jun were.

She peeked over his shoulder into his room and gasped as his room changed into a forest. "Oh my! How wonderful!" She thought of her own home in Andalasia that had been in a tree. It was certainly more convenient to get to her room here than it had been there though. "I do hope you enjoy it here, Legolas." She wanted him to stay. Maybe she could coax him into singing with her in the mornings from her balcony. Just the thought put a huge grin on her face.

Although he still didn't really understand why him being a prince mattered, her reaction was more than satisfactory to him. Gazing into her eyes for much longer than he would have expected, he smiled. It was too easy, by far, to drown in those eyes. All elves love stars, and in her eyes, he saw the same beauty he would expect in the night sky. Also, he had to admit, it was pleasant to be with someone who would sing with him. Most humans, he had found, looked at him oddly when he sang, but it was the Elven way.

"Yes, my lady. And, do you think so? Princes are not so very common, even here, then. There are few princes in Middle Earth."

He stepped inside his room, smiling as he took a deep breath. He didn't know how it would be possible, but he could even smell the forest in this room. If he didn't know better, even he with his finely-attuned Elven senses would have assumed they were in a grove deep within the forest. It felt amazing, and with a relieved sort of look, he set his bow down. Then, he turned towards the beautiful woman who was still outside his door.

"Lady Giselle, would you like to come in?"

He hoped she didn't feel pressured, but she seemed to like the forest, and in his books, any lover of the forest was alright by him. Also, to be perfectly honest, he was really enjoying her company, and was quite sure he would seek it again, whether she entered his room or not.

Giselle nodded emphatically. "No, sadly, Princes are not so common anywhere." She frowned, but brightened almost instantly. She watched him enter his room and smiled as he seemed to get lost for a minute. She knew how that could be. Her own home had been in a forest before she'd been pushed into the horribly dirty New York City.

When he invited her in, she grinned broadly. It was an honor to be invited into the room of a Prince and she nearly accepted. But then her sense of propriety kicked in and she hesitated. "Although I would love to, I think I should get back to my own room. I'm feeling a little tired." She shrugged her shoulders and smiled sheepishly.

"I am willing to help with anything you might need. I am just upstairs." She smiled and backed up a few steps. "It was wonderful to meet you, Legolas!" She gushed. "Farewell!" Turning, she fled down the hall to the stairs which she mounted to the second floor and disappeared into her own room. She sat down on her bed and flopped back, grinning happily.
