At least the weather was a little more like Wales as Gwen curled up in her now usual perch in the building sitting room. Having spent most of the prior day either fighting off lizards or tending to Gray had not left much time for anything else, so a breather was nice. As she sipped a steaming cup of Ianto's coffee she got to thinking as she jotted down some notes into her notebook (her private journal well hidden back in her room). But now she was curious, she knew via her chat with Sarah Jane that she had a son. "Maybe something will liven up my day" as she played with her pen between sips of coffee.

Luke was bored. It was raining outside so he was more or less stuck inside, unless he wanted to go running around in the rain. He could go and play video games but he didn't really know anyone that played them as well and it was no fun being by yourself.

He wondered what Violet was up to. Maybe she'd made some new interesting inventions. Deciding to go looking for her, Luke started to poke around the resort. Eventually, he reached the sitting room, not having found his friend yet. He paused for a moment as he recognized someone sitting there. It wasn't Violet, but with his memory, he easily recalled the woman from Torchwood, Gwen Cooper.

"It might have been my friend, Violet," Luke guessed. "Did she have dark brown hair and looked around my age?"

Well, it didn't seem like she was adverse to his being there... and Luke was a bit curious about how Torchwood worked. Sarah Jane never told him much about the organization. She didn't much approve of their... ways.

"I'm Luke Smith, Sarah Jane's son," he introduced himself, shaking her hand in return. "I remember you from the sub-wave network when the Daleks came."

"Yes, black hair ribbon and looking for parts?" Gwen had seen the younger girl before. "She peeked in long enough to return a pen she borrowed from me pre lizards. As for the Daleks I remember hanging onto a light fixture when the TARDIS pulled the Earth back into place" deciding to share just the funny things like a dino as team pet. "Was more worried about Jack and Rhys, my husband" she added in case Luke had not seen her wedding ting.

Luke nodded, sitting down next to Gwen. "Yes, that's her."

He paused a moment, trying to remember a Rhys but he didn't know who that was. "I remember Captain Jack Harkness." He figured that's what she meant when she mentioned a Jack. "I don't think I know who Rhys is though. Is he a part of Torchwood too?" Luke knew that the other man's name was Ianto Jones, not Rhys...

	"No, Rhys is my husband" Gwen explained, not minding the question at all as she let Luke see her wedding ring. "But Violet's very sweet, she spoke of her snowball cannon when she returned my pen. 	"Oh." So that was why he didn't know. He smiled brightly when she mentioned Violet's work. "Yes, her inventions are amazing." "Is that what you did before you joined Torchwood?" Luke asked, listening. He popped the big question he'd been wanting to ask for a long time. "What do you do, exactly, in Torchwood? What does Torchwood do besides catch aliens?" He wanted to know how Torchwood was different from what he and his friends and mum did. Sarah Jane didn't like them and he wanted to know exactly why, besides the fact that they used guns and seemed a little harsh at times... At least from what the little history that he knew said.

	Gwen nodded, deciding to go with some of the lighter things within Torchwood for now. "I mean we just go after aliens like the Weevils aka a local pain in the neck and basically keep Cardiff and the Rift safe" she explained. 	"What's a Weevil look like?" Luke had never heard about those. From the way Gwen mentioned them, they seemed to be a common thing in Cardiff. His eyes widened a bit when she mentioned the dinosaur. 	"Its hard to explain Weevils but they sure are ugly things" Gwen for a second could hear Owen wisecracking about how ugly one was. "But Myfanwy is actually a pteranodon and she came via the Rift.
