open 🌸 early evening, everywhere
[With temperatures slowly dropping and days turning into night at earlier and earlier hours, it's probably not a surprise when more signs of winter start to manifest in the coming days, not quite fully there but close. Traces of ice that aren't quite snow, chilly winds, and overcast days. Definitely a shift from the sunny opportunities of magical dates and the like.

With all that, of course, there's the need for those warmer clothes to keep the cold at bay, and likewise an increase chance of finding them among the shops and bazaar. Thicker, warmer coats to put on, mittens and hats, supplies to help with the ice, or maybe you're just looking to restock on hot-cocoa for home. Today certainly seems like one of those days for it.

It's not so bad that braving the outside is out of the question, either, of course - if you like this sort of weather, it might even make for a nice walk, with the right attire and maybe a hand to hold to keep warm. For those that might prefer staying in, huddling up instead... it's a perfect excuse too.]

[It's kind of... helpless, when eventually his gaping kind of turns into a smile too, tentative but there all the same. He trembles, the feeling all near inexplicable, so much lighter, when Shiro's words just. Well, he always knows what to say to get through Keith's insecurities.]

[So he nods, just a little.] Yeah. Okay. I, um - [... It feels crazy to be able to say it at all, even more so to Shiro, and yet.] I love you, too.

[He is still very Not Prepared this time too, tbh, with all the internal alsdjflsdjfd to match but also with the benefit of a quicker response time as he holds Shiro's wrist to keep his hand close and closes his eyes to try matching that soft brush of his lips with his own, if more eagerly because, well, you know him. He's learning the patience lesson still.]

Shiro.

[This time, when he repeats his words close to Shiro's lips, just for good measure, there's an emphasis to it that's much less tentative and halting than it's been so far.] I really... I love you.

[Smiles a little, brushing his thumb over his cheek absently-- not moving to pull away from him and letting Keith hold him there. Still, after a moment, he does lean back-- but draws Keith with him, lying out on the couch and pulling him closer over him. ]

... I love you, too, baby. [Brushes his nose against his and then kisses him again, just a quick peck.] So much. You have no idea.

	[It's funny how he could be used to flopping around with him in some sense (spoilers: he really wasn't that chill about it) and still now manages to go entirely red from the quick little brushes of his affection. [Too easily, his eyes waver again, something both so reassuring and amazing about the words and yet - it's only with stubbornness that he pushes past showing the self-doubt on his face more, much as his voice betrays him, hair falling a little into his eyes.] Why would it be... I just-

[Of all people, him? But then - you keep saying why. Keith shakes his head, letting out a breath, speaking in a weak attempt at dry jest only because it's the only mechanism he can manage aside from the usual option of getting overwhelmed.]

Kind of hard to think I get that much less messed up in the future.

Yeah. You always... I know. [Older Keith would also disagree with that about u tho so tough luck, buddy. He quietly observes Shiro's expression now, letting himself feel the comfort the hand on his back offers -- relaxing with some sort of relief after a moment.]

That's not new with Shiro, really - it's why Keith can accept the words even though he's not sure how it's possible.
