I think you worried for me then, the subtle ways that I'd give in

Even in someplace like the Inn, there are choices. Every choice can't happen at once. So logic goes to reason that even in someplace like the Inn, there are other universes, ones where the details change.

In two of these universes, a Time Lord walked in. The same one, really; just one's a regeneration further on than the other.

In one universe, a door opens, and the Twelfth Doctor walks through, blindfolded, his hands cuffed behind his back, merrily whistling a thirty-ninth century Earth hunting song. He stops after a few steps and a few bars, realizing something's different -- the air, maybe, or the feeling that all eyes aren't on him anymore. He stops short and waits for the guards to poke him in the back, but nothing comes, so he calls out cautiously, "Right, what's this?" You might note the Irish accent.

In the other, the door opens, and the Thirteenth Doctor steps in. He slouches forward as though trying to curl up into a ball even as he stands, hands in the pockets of his nice black slacks, eyes trained on the floor, feet barely lifting as he walks. Two steps in he realizes the floor is not like anywhere he's seen on the Valiant, and there's a flash of panic as he looks up, wondering if he took the wrong turn, if he's somewhere off-limits -- and then the panic fades to confusion and quiet fear as he realizes that even the Valiant doesn't have a hotel inside it.

[OOC: ...Please ignore the setup, I... was bored. XD It's creativity, dammit! Anyway. I really shouldn't be starting posts with so many tags, but I want to poke at the two of these. This is Twelve and Thirteen from my AU fic What You Need and What You Can't Live Without. Twelve is still fairly newly regenerated and defiant. Thirteen is broken. Feel free to throw anyone you want at them -- past Doctors (past for them, obviously), random strangers.... Or Masters! I would kind of like Masters, especially Simm!Master, it could be interesting. >.> But seriously, anyone, at either, I'm just poking.]
