Good Ending/Bad Ending meme
Do you get a happily ever after? Or a 'Rocks fall, everyone dies'? Why not both?

* Post your characters and set up two scenes. One with an ideal setting (They got what they always wanted, hit it big, became rich and famous, etc.) and one with a bad twist of events (They're homeless, everyone hates them, maybe they're even dying!).
* Others respond to one of the two settings (Or both in different comments, if they want!)
* Respond.
* ???
* Profit!!!

Just remember: no ending is set in stone, good endings can turn sour, and bad endings can be made better. Just see where it takes you and enjoy the ride!

There was a few times where Erik had to step out of the hospital all together. Especially when it was getting to the point where he felt like he was suffocating or that he was going to get sick. However he always came back sitting beside Raven. It was far too many hours (even if it wasn't really THAT bad) when they got the updates. Just as it had taken far too much control for him not to snap when they told them that they'd have to wait longer.

For a moment he can't even fully step into the room his eyes transfixed on Charles. On how pale the telepath was and all of those wires and cords. Its a good few more moments before he moves to the other side of the bed taking one of the telepath's hands in his own, running his thumb along the back of it.

Charles' brow creased, the movement barely perceptible under the bandages, he made a quiet sound in the back of his throat, not quite a groan and not quite an attempt at words, but it faded again a moment later, replaced by an almost-groggy mental voice: Erik? Raven?

Raven managed a smile, even though she was biting back tears, relief mostly, "We're right here."

Erik's eyes were so transfixed on those damn wires that he barely even caught the telepath's mental voice within his mind. Just like he's not even noticed the tremors in his hands or his body. Nothing was going to happen here that shouldn't of.

"We've been with you the whole time, Charles."

Even though his hands were shaking his voice was steady and calm somehow.

There was another quiet sound, somehow puzzled this time, followed by: What's happened? Still sounding just as groggy as he had before.

"Brain surgery." Raven answered, figuring that it was no use trying to cushion that, since he was likely to know if they were stalling anyway, "They got six tumors out, there were others they couldn't get to without it being too risky for you."

Her fingers slipped from the back of Charles' hand to the back of Erik's, she'd noticed the trembling, but had it pegged as worry or stress more than anything else, just like her own relief was making her a little giddy.

"You worried the hell out of us, Charles."

However the moment Raven's fingers slip to the back of his hand he jumps slightly. Like a snake that had uncoiled or something along those lines. He pulls his hand away clenching it into a fist to try and stave off the trembling but it wasn't working. The only one that knew why he'd be like this was a bit out of it.

"Just rest. You're going to need it."

	The metal bender wasn't so sure he could stay in that room. Not with all the wires right there but he leans back in his chair, retaking Charles' hand. "Of course, Charles. We don't plan to go anywhere." And they'd regret it if they tried to make him. Even if he, himself, probably didn't look so good. This was about Charles though and not his own nightmares. 	Charles relaxed almost immediately at that, the faint tension in his expression leeching away again, fingers twitching against Erik's hand. Raven relaxed as well, just a little, though she could tell that Erik was still uncomfortable, though she didn't know the reason why, aside from the fact that seeing Charles like this was more than a little unsettling. 	When Charles relaxed Erik just sat back in his seat. If Raven had questions then now would be the best time to ask them. When the metal bender was half there and half not. 	She wasn't going to ask, not about that, at least, though what she did ask was: "Will you be alright while I call home?" Charles, for his part, seemed to have slipped back off to sleep, still working through the residual effects of the anesthesia. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Hmm...?" Shaking his head he gives her a small smile. "I'll be fine. Let them know that he's going to be okay." That he was awake so to speak. Not awake right now obviously but he was recovering. Leaning back in his chair he shuts his eyes so he doesn't have to see all the wires. At least Charles had better care than what he, himself, ever did at the hands of Shaw.

Unfortunately sitting in that room was just making him paler and sicker to his stomach but he wasn't leaving the telepath. Over his dead body.

	Charles was resting easy, and he did so for a few long minutes, before the quiet, almost tired mental voice came back: I can feel them. The ones they couldn't remove. Probably some sort of residual effect from the anesthesia, or the painkillers, given as how the brain didn't have any nerve endings to feel things with. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	At least one of them could rest easy. Well... two of them more than anything. Raven and Charles. Him on the other hand... not so much. Though he rode it out just to be there for the telepath. "I'm fine, Charles."

Which was a lie but that was beside the point. He wanted to be there for Charles it just... his mind was on Shaw. On the amount of wires and the way... well, just on the experiments that the man used to do to him.

"I'll be fine waiting right here till we can take you home."

Even if the doctor has asked him more than once we're sure if he was alright or not. He'd just said that he was. There was no way he'd let anyone check him over.

You aren't. You won't be, it's going to make you crazy. Leave it to Charles to know a lie when he heard one, even when he was still recovering from brain surgery.

Another vague head shake and a quiet, almost pained sound in the back of his throat: Full recovery could take weeks. Maybe months. His brow was still furrowed: They can't be certain there's nothing wrong yet, the surgeon's worried there might be. Too much bleeding.

Chances were good no one had actually TOLD Charles that.

	"I said I'll be fine, Charles." It's almost a growl even when he knows that the telepath was right. Stay here was going to make him crazy. 	How do you think? There was a flicker of a smile, Take Raven home when she gets back. Make sure she eats something, she always forgets to eat when she's worried. 	You can't stay the whole time, Erik. Visiting hours. It's a hospital, not a hotel There was no real reprimand in the statement, he was too tired for that, I'd much rather you go home and recover for a while than stay here and go mad. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	His fingers twitched against Erik's hand again, trying to give a reassuring squeeze and only mostly managing it: thank you. He'd drifted off to sleep again by the time Raven returned, "Okay." 	He almost didn't even hear Raven come into the room which made him jump slightly. Especially since he'd been having a conversation with Charles the whole time. Erik gives her a small smile (despite the fact that he looks paler than when she'd left) and stands leaning down kissing Charles' forehead. "He wants us to go home. Said we can't stay here." 	Erik pressed his cheek against the back of the telepath's hand before letting it go and then moving over leading Raven back out of the hospital. He's not noticed it but the moment they're outside he visibly relaxes. "I'd say that's dangerous but in this situation he won't do anything stupid." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
