Characters: Justin Finch-Fletchley & Mary MacDonald
Setting: Friday afternoon, St. Mungo's
Rating: GP
Summary: Justin comes in for an exam and might eventually get around to talking to Mary about a career in health services.
Justin never feared hospitals. He liked the comfort of doctors and healers. There was something to be said about a person who devoted their lives to fixing others. He might have never taken the Hippocratic Oath, but he believed in the principal to 'first, do no harm' and hoped that he lived his life to those standards. And as annoying as it was to have to show up for check ups at St. Mungo's he understood the need. Not just a month ago he was locked away in a jail cell very dehydrated, starved and nutrient deficient.
Now, there were benchmarks to pass to assure that he was on his way to be physically healthy. Which in turn would help the mental health piece along too. Really, the worst part about hospitals in general was how long you had to wait to be seen by someone. That and the waiting rooms or exam rooms weren't particularly welcoming. He had no idea if the children's ward was better, but for their sake he hoped so.
Justin leaned back against the wall sorting through all of the big questions on his plate the past couple of days. The biggest was the search for some place else to live. He had the money now and he knew he couldn't stay with the Macmillans forever. Then of course, was the quest to find a job because while he did have the money, he would feel far more comfortable if he lived on what he earned rather than what he inherited. Taking a deep breath in and out he tried to let them settle - it wouldn't do well for any reactionary stress to alter whatever readings they were going to get today.
