Oh Marvelous: A Marvel RPG
~*~“Evolution is not a force, but a process. Not a cause, but a law.” (John Morley)~*~

For years man has been evolving, quietly and subtly, on the periphery of human awareness. In recent years these evolutionary mutations have taken on more extravagant and dangerous forms, attracting the attention of homo-sapiens. The humans do not like what they see. To make matter worse, many of these mutants have turned to villainy, terrorizing the public and affirming the fear and hatred towards mutants harbored by human race. Reactionary measures have been taken, most notably in America and Great Britain, requiring mutants to register with the governments.

Mutant organizations, some for good and some for evil, have sprung up all over the planet. In response to the growing threat of super-powered villains, the American S.H.I.E.L.D. organization has taken the initiative to produce the first government sanctioned “super-hero” the Avengers. Meanwhile, despite mounting public distrust, philanthropist Charles Xavier continues his efforts towards peaceful mutant-human relations with his X-Men and his school for young mutants in Westchester, New York. At the Muir Island research facility a subsidiary of the X-Men team has been formed by geneticist Moira MacTaggert, calling itself Excalibur. In contrast to these “heroes” the mutant called Magneto, disillusioned with an intolerant majority, has built the island haven of Genosha and formed the “activist” Brotherhood of Mutants. More groups are formed all the time, from devious government factions to would-be champions. Many mutants choose no affiliation, fighting the system as lone rebels or staying hidden in the shadows. In this politically and socially precarious world, how will you choose to live your life?

YEAR ONE

When America was threatened by alien invaders it was the heroes known as Aquaman, Black Canary, Green Lantern, The Flash and Martian Manhunter who banded together and fought them back. They handled the initial battle on their own, and decided that since they worked well together that they would form an updated version of the Justice Society Of America.

They called themselves ... the Justice League of America.

That was six months ago. Now that the JLA has made a name for its self (and is showing that is is a successor to the JSA) membership in the league has been expanded and new heroes have been invited to join. Of course it seems that for every person who decides to don cape, cowl or tights, there are two more who mask themselves and set out to engage in criminal activities.

DC RPG. Heavily influenced by the comic JLA: Year One. AU setting. Lots of characters open! Heroes, villains, sidekicks, civilians all wanted!

Start Date: July 6th

[emissary]

It's the answer to every desperate dime store wish: to be special and to stand out from the rest of the herd. One day, like any other regular day, you discover a talent you never knew you had. Maybe you were in a life-threatening situation or maybe it just came to you out of nowhere but it's special. Unique. Sensational. Something like that could get you past all the closed doors and all the roped-off VIP sections you could possibly think of. Sex, wealth, prestige and more attention you could ever wish for is yours for the taking. There are others. You may have run into them, passing them over because they fit in and looked just like everyone else. There's a commonality there: ordinary people with extraordinary abilities and you're one of them, too. So what happens when the faceless powers that be decide you're a potential threat to public safety and they want to keep tabs on you by any and all means possible? You hear, through the grapevine, of people like you who refused to play nice. You also hear of those being rounded up, taken in for 'questioning and observation' and sometimes, are never seen again.

Everyone loves anarchy - as long as it's happening to the neighbors. Do you play along with the game? Do you go underground, fight the system and hope for the best? Or do you keep your head down low, dot your i's and cross your t's and hope the neighbors don't turn you in? The decision is yours.

ENTITIES is a mainstream meta community where original characters have a place to thrive and tell a story. In this universe, anything that's ever been featured in a comic book is possible.
