[When Kaworu Nagisa awakens in a strange place, with a message telling him that he is in prison and listing his crimes, he is not scared. He is not even apprehensive or nervous.
He is, however, intrigued.
What did he do? What finally pushed the Old Men so far that they'd abandon their trump card against Ikari? The message said something about a warden named Acumen, but he knows that it's just a cover - SEELE created him, and only they have the authority to detain him. So why the subterfuge? It's almost amusing, that they would go so far.
And what was it that so offended them? The crime list is ridiculous - they haven't imprisoned him for killing a kitten, or for kissing (it was mouth-to-mouth resucitation, honestly!) the Third Child, and they certainly haven't done this because he is a part of their own organization or NERV. The future crimes are the most interesting, though: insubordination? Is this another event predicted in the Scrolls? But no, that doesn't make sense - they wouldn't have sent him to NERV if they knew he'd rebel. And future suicide actually brings him up short, if only for a second. Still, he doesn't enjoy being taken aback like that.
So for the moment, he stops thinking and begins to act. His attention moves to the headset; a few buttons pushed, and he can hear voices. So it's used to communicate. Taking a chance that someone can hear him, he begins to speak.]
Well, this is interesting.
[The voice is high and soft for a male, obviously young. With a bit of fiddling, he switches on the video function - a handsome teenage face appears, with inhumanly pale skin and red eyes, framed by unkempt silver hair. Those who knew her may notice a marked resemblance to former inmate Rei Ayanami. The welcome basket sits ignored beside him - he hasn't connected its presence to his incarceration yet.
One corner of his mouth quirks upward in a lopsided smile.]
Have I offended you in some way, Old Men? Or - are Ikari and NERV behind this?
[Then the smirk is replaced by a petulant frown. If that's the case -]
At least let me speak to Shinji for a moment. That's not too much to ask, is it?
((ooc: for those who want to 'sense' his power, or who happen to prefer action, just indicate 'action' in the subject line. he's sitting in the park with a ball and chain around his ankle.))
