Have you ever... forgotten something? Like... you knew something was missing, but you couldn't place what it was? And-
[ she swallows, thickly ] - and no matter what you did, no matter how hard you thought about it, you couldn't remember what you couldn't remember?
[ There's a pause - her voice wavers, and when she begins to speak again it's with slightly more power and no more stability. Her voice raises a pitch or two. ]And- and then... have you ever
remembered that thing?

[The Twenty-Seventh Day] Update 3
10 September 2009 at 08:42 pm
Now we will be splitting up into teams to engage in productive, meaningful activity. This will build in you a sense of accomplishment and non-destructive pride. Doing something good for your community is supposed to be much more fulfilling than doing something that benefits only you. Or no one, in the case of certain prideful actions.
Some of you, as determined by this facility, will engage in gardening tasks in Sector 4. Others of you will be hand-washing laundry. Still others of you will be scrubbing the bathing facilities.
Remote units will supervise and assist you if you appear to be having difficulty. But they will not do your new chores for you.
[Action | so much open!]

[Having been sent to scrub the baths, Xellos is occupying his time taking in the atmosphere. The decor leaves much to be desired, but there was more than a reasonable possibility of some rather delectable negativity. Many had been unhappy for the duration of the day and adding such a menial, belittling chore should only add to the discontent. And so, he was determined to enjoy himself.]
[Brush in hand, Xellos quite cheerfully applies it to a tiled surface. He's doing more people-watching and smiling than cleaning, however.]
