[ Log | Closed ] Tonight we walk on water
DATE: Day 121, evening
INVOLVED: fleur_de_glorie and arcanesansnom
ACTIVITY: An innocent nighttime picnic, to discuss Prom preparations and... stuff.
RATING: T for Teenage girl ambitions
Jeanne had her work cut out for her tonight! Acumen surprised her by announcing festivities for today, so there was no way to set anything up earlier. On the other hand, it gave her the perfect opportunity which she wasn't about to waste. The more Jeanne would dwell on it, the more she was certain she had to say something now that he was back. Why risk losing a chance this second time?
First was the call to ensure Ribbons could set some time aside for her today. Even though she said this was primarily to brainstorm a new potential party, that's not the only reason she called him out.
Next came a brief respite at the beach, as she figured Saya would be there for the food. She had been right, but her timing had been somewhat... unfortunate. It didn't keep her from enjoying a couple of rounds of volleyball, though! But that meant she had to go home and change completely and shower to get all the sand out of her hair and that always takes her forever and then she was indecisive about the outfit and would too much makeup be too obvious and what about that sun-dress but the sun won't be out so maybe something heavier and argh!
Jeanne finally settled on a cute daisy-print dress and a matching hairband, opting out of the curls this time, leaving her hair down in golden, wavy layers that she isn't quite sure she likes. It's probably time for a trim soon... but not today! She has to gather up all the supplies and go set the scene next.
In the park she laid out a checkered blanket right under a tree, with several books to weight it down, a basket of goodies in the center, and a none-too-bright lamp that hung from a low branch. She has some time before he arrives, and getting all of this together on relatively short notice took a bit out of her. (It doesn't help that she didn't sleep too well the night before, but that's not going to stop her!) The fireflies were just so delightful, too. Her eyelids became heavy and she found herself dozing gently as she sat with her back against the trunk of the tree.
