[ He wakes up too early, like he always does these days. This is what shacking up with a mortal gets you, early mornings and short nights and the perpetual heaviness of moderate fatigue as a result of not getting enough sleep. Not that he's complaining, of course, it's just an observation and it's not like being tired can kill a vampire.

He stretches with a yawn before flopping over to his side, arm over Ianto's waist, but only for a moment before he sits up in bed with a gasp, blood pounding in his ears. He yawned. ]

[ Being alive after a good century and a quarter is a weird experience. He keeps zoning out in the middle of doing something because the beating of his heart drowns out everything else, every heavy thud of his pulse ringing like the blow of a hammer. Breathing is even weirder and there are moments throughout the day when he plum forgets, instincts withered away over the years. It makes smoking more fun. The tobacco doesn't burn of course, he's a seasoned smoker, but feeling his lungs contract and release smoke in visual proof of function is mesmerising to say the least, a far cry from the trickling plumes of smoke he managed before. Then there's eating and drinking and all the other weird things living bodies can do-

[Ianto is even more warm and relaxed than usual this morning and as a result it takes him longer than it should to realize that he's warm because for once his isn't the only body heating up the bed, and that he's more relaxed because he's lulled by the rhythmic rise and fall of Spike's chest and the slow beat of his heart.

That all hits him the minute he yawns of course and then he's wide awake as Spike sits up, eyes snapping open to stare at the warm flush of his usually pale skin.]

Whoa. Did they...? [Bring you to life?]

	[ The yawn and the gasp have been quickly followed by several breaths and there doesn't seem to be any immediate stop to them either. He puts his hand in front of his mouth and remains baffled for a moment at the heated breaths hitting his warm skin, before moving it down to pat his chest, feeling for a pulse. ] What the fuh... [Ianto can't help but reach out and put a hand on his bare shoulder, feeling the unusual warmth of his skin beneath his fingertips as he watches Spike struggle to remember how to breathe and talk at the same time. They've been here long enough to know how this works, that it will likely just be a one day thing before it all returns to normal and he can't help but think of ways to take advantage of it. For once sex isn't even the first thing that comes to mind, but rather more innocent plans like an actual, real dinner date or enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee together. Things they can't do when he isn't alive. Provided he gets his breathing under control, of course.]

	[In an odd way he does have experience with this. How many times has he watched Jack struggle back to life? 	I think they brought you to life. Knowing this place I assume it's just for today but still. It's quite a change. [He cups his free hand against his face, just taking in the warmth of his skin beneath his fingers.
