Day 426 / Video and action / Open (backdated to morning)
Video
[Jack comes on the screen in front of the store previously known as the Plush Rump and now proudly sporting a brand new sign stating Captain Jack's Exotic Emporium.]

So. I took this place over a while ago and I was intending to have a great big grand opening day, but what with one bit of drama and another I haven't got as far with the renovations as I'd like to.

So instead I'd like to invite you to come and help me do the place up! I've found some paint and fabrics and things, but a little extra manpower wouldn't hurt, and I could use some people to help set out the stock as well. Any helpers grateful received!

Action
He'll be at the store all day, working on getting it set up.

[ It takes a little while before he responds. There's a lot of mulling over - on one hand he's good with his hands and paint and hammers, so he could actually be a lot of help and also sex shop, maybe he could pick something up for Rebecca? Something fun? Something to show that he can also be spontaneous and fun and experimental?

On the other hand, sex shop. Sex shop with Jack. Sex shop with Jack post-bands and they haven't had that talk yet but if the opportunity arose Aidan's not sure he could say no. It's like the setup of a gay porn. So dangerous. ]

I, uh... I could help out, if you still need it. 'm pretty good with my hands.

[Jack is stripped down to his t-shirt, and there's a smudge of purple pain on his cheek, and lots more on his hands and clothes. Aidan's offer brings a wide, grateful smile to his face.]

Of course Ianto will be by as one of the first to arrive. Between wanting to support Jack and being interested in what he has in stock there's no way he would miss this. He's not in a suit today in case he gets roped into painting or dusting and he's prepared to use all of his cleaning and organizational skills to get the place looking it's best.

At some point he knows they need to have a discussion about what happens now that the bands are gone. This isn't a prison anymore and those rules have been lifted but more than anything he wants to avoid a repeat of that imaginary future they had. Enough time has passed that he thinks they can finally have a rational discussion about it instead of being so emotional. It's not his sole priority for today but he'll certainly try to bring it up if he can.

There's a smile on his face though as he arrives and looks around. "Right. What should I start work on first?"

Oh, he's going to get roped in all right (and not in a sexy bondage-type way)!

"Ah, there you are," Jack says when he walks in, as if Ianto coming to help had actually been discussed in advance. He knew Ianto wouldn't be able to stay away any longer, once he put out the call for help!

He comes down off his ladder and crosses to give Ianto a welcome kiss. "I thought perhaps you would make a start on the drapes? Fabric being in your blood and all that!"

And yes, it's certainly time they had that talk, given the recent developments in the prison. Ianto might well have to be the one to start it though. Since things have settled down again, Jack's become very cautious of rocking the boat.

He wouldn't rule out some sexy bondage-type roping too.

He returns the kiss warmly, pleased by how excited Jack seems to be about all of this. He's always loved his enthusiasm for things and he's missed watching the way he tends to throw himself into a project.

"Hardly. My father worked in a shop." Funny how easy that lie was to tell the first time, and how easy the truth is now. He never loves discussing his family or his father or where he comes from and it was just easier to lie than to talk about it. That hasn't changed and frankly he's rather just leave that part of his past behind. The only difference is that now he doesn't mind Jack knowing he doesn't feel like discussing it. "I might be more useful organizing your inventory."

((OOC: Kanji needs to come sew these drapes without realizing what store he's walking into until it's too late so stand by for that! Also Jack still owes him a birds and bees of gay sex talk.))

This is not a store Kanji has ever been in and it's pretty clear he has no idea what it sells or there would be no way he'd come stomping in this cheerfully. But hey, he knows he's good at smashing things like walls and stuff, plus he's good at painting and sewing and stuff. He'll totally kick ass at whatever they're working on today!

Kanji... is not someone he expected to waltz so casually into a sex shop, but he's not going to turn down any offer of help. He smiles, and sets down his paintbrush.

"You're a bit late for demolition, I'm afraid. We're at the setting up stage now!" His eyes light up as he remembers Kanji's area of special skills. "But if you could sort out the drapes for me, that'd be fantastic!"

He would absolutely not be waltzing in if he knew what this place was but it's too late, he's here now and there aren't enough items on display yet to clue him in, not that he would recognize them anyway.

"Oh yeah, I can totally handle drapes." He picks up the pile of fabric and shakes it out to get a better look at them. "You want these ironed? Or just hung up?"

Also...it hasnt occured to me to experiment with romantic..let's say encounters, on account of the whole VR thing.

No discernable difference at all, just like everything else. Hence the need for toys and other necessities! [He grins.]

I'm not sure I actually have any tech needs, given that there's no actual money changing hands, though Ianto might like a hand with computerising his handwritten inventory? Or feel free to just come and have a snoop, if you want to!

[It's been a good little while since raptors ran amok and she first ran into Jack, discussing Hell and Spike saying Jack was good for dating advice. Well, over a month and one kinda failed singles mingle later - Jezebel's not given up heart yet. In fact, she's still curiously examining moral life to the fullest, and that comes with putting on jeans and "work clothes" upon hearing his request. Of course she'll help!

Nevermind she's never done a lick of hard work in her life, but surely she can do something.] Jack! I came to help. What can I do?
