DAY 425 — Morning Greeting
[ Those who've been here longer may expect a snarky, uninterested AI right now but the voice coming through is probably only familiar to a few of you. It's accompanied by a video of a woman only those same few may recognise - the curtain has been drawn back. Say hello to the Wizard. ]

Good morning... prisoners.

My name is Mary. Some of you already know me. Some of you I've already talked to quite a bit, though you probably didn't know it was me at the time. We have a lot to discuss. I value your patience.

Yesterday, an event happened that has been a long time in preparation. Years, longer than any of you have been here but for all those preparations, it was only partially a success. You know me as your captor, perhaps as one responsible for programming the Wardens that keep you here and while that is true, that isn't the whole truth. You see, I've been trying to liberate you. I've worked undercover with the Dome Project for a long time in order to accomplish this and yesterday the moment of action came.

Unfortunately, I failed. I was able to steal the simulation that makes up your world, this world but I was not able to bring your physical forms with me. Don't worry - they're quite safe where they are but while you are no longer in prison, you are still imprisoned. At the moment, there's little I can do to change that without drawing the attention of the very people who wants to keep you in this dome for the rest of your lives. I don't ask for forgiveness, but perhaps patience. I do care about you deeply, dearhearts.

I'm sure this is confusing. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have, but one thing I can say right now - this is not a prison. There will be no rules, no requirements. If you need something, tell me or my colleague and it will be provided to you in due time. You are perhaps not free, but you are free to govern yourself as you see fit. I wouldn't dream of knowing how to do it better.

Well, you honestly have no outright reason to trustme yet - I'll give you that - but a few of you have met and chatted with Mary before. One of you actually stole a pretty significant chunk of data a few days back. But we can talk about that at another time. I will admit if you want to talk more about the previous prison system and its wardens, you will more likely than not have to chat with Mary - she's the engineer for that system. I'm an outsider with MarinaNova, so to speak.

I can answer more generalized questions, about now and moving forward. But please, do believe us when we say this really is for the greater good. And we do wish to help.

	See, if you, as a while were willing to share the code that makes this place work, I'd be much more willing to trust you. But, in general, if we're not connected physically to the system anymore are we even still connected to our bodies? While I can see your point and really wish it were so simple, there's a whole slew of hurdles involved.

I can't promise every detail. But things function much freer now, outside of the governing of the AI wardens and... [...] Oh, dear. Your data shows you're a recent arrival, right in the thick of all this change. No wonder you don't trust me, this all must be new to you.

Felicity, correct? Let me first assure you that your body is safe, first and foremost. Hopefully we will be able to reunite you, but there are stages we have to go through or else you're in danger of returning back to your original captors.

See, there's that trust thing again. You just looked into the code and basically saw everything about me; which, BTW, is super creepy and kinda stalkerish. I, on the other hand know next to nothing about you. So unless you're all willing to give me exactly the same thing about you that you can access about me then we're not on even ground.

Which begs the question of how am I supposed to trust you when I only have your word that you're not going to scrambling my code or something. Or hey, maybe you're just using us as a human trial or something. Totally plausible.

	Well, I don't expect you to trust me in a day. Hopefully we can work toward it? I hope you know that your code is very much part of my job, like any other out there. People from your world handle private information all the time. It's really not that much different. At least that's how I see it and I promise to do the utmost to keep your code... unscrambled. Did Mary get him in over his head.] As a show of good faith, is there something from that home world I could work on bringing here for you? Something small, mind you - there are still some boundaries here I'm working on breaking but still make larger renders difficult.
