DAY 398 | OPEN | VIDEO
[ Have you ever been treated to heavy breathing on the end of a phone call? Well, that's the sound you're hearing now, except there's a video to go with it, which is mostly occupied by Kirk's sweat-streaked, dirt smudged, scratched up face. He looks more put upon than hurt, and from the looks of the background he's somewhere green and up high. He's tucked tight against what appears to be a tree trunk, running a hand through his hair and flashing his best charming grin under the circumstances. ]

So, probably not the smartest decision ever in my life, but I've found myself up at tree and in need of some assistance. If anyone has suggestions on how to make it out of Sector 6 with...

[ He paused and looked down, moving his lips as his eyes flicked back and forth purposefully. ]

Let's say around four very unhappy raptors. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

[ Hopefully everyone got this without static, but who knows, right? He's hoping for the best. Seems to usually work form. Usually. ]

Good thing I tend to be the kiss and don't tell afterwards. [ He gives a grin. ] Now, how the bloody hell did you find raptors?

I honestly don't know. I just stepped in a few feet to inspect an interesting plant I saw, heard a growl from behind, and did what many planets have trained me to do - run.

[ He sighed. ]

I swear I'm like catnip for things with teeth.

Most would say that your first mistake was going in alone, mate. Me? Usually, the best things are done alone. Until you get stuck up a tree like a cat. [ Yes, he finds this hilarious. Apologies, Kirk. ]

I'm sure there's a dashing hero in tights that might come to your rescue.

I wasn't planning on it, and I didn't think the raptors would be so close to the edge of the sector!

[ He huffs, crossing his arms and almost pouting at the other. ]

I prefer scruffy and in ties instead.

You say that like raptors are common under the sea.

[ Think about how ridiculous that sounds, Kirk. ]

Oh, those are the ones you don't want to trust. They'll get you caught on a one way ticket to Hell.

Well, I can't deny they're circling the tree trunk right now, can I?

[ It sounds ridiculous, but it is what it is, and he's seen stranger honestly. ]

I think Hell sent me back once already, taking that as a good sign.

Being an oddity and being common are different. You lot still have school in the future, don't you? [ Totally teasing. ]

And what deal did you make for Satan to send you out on your merry way? [ Treating this like it is a dead serious situation. ]

Heavens, no, we just implant everything into your brain at the age of eight!

[ Totally teasing, but it's okay if you take him seriously. ]

I don't really know. I don't remember it to be honest - it was just dark and quiet and then I was awake in a hospital bed.

I wouldn't put it past the future. [ He shrugs. ]

Usually he makes a bit more of a scene. At last his flunkies do.

Yeah, no, we don't do that.

[ giving you weird looks, John. ]

Well, like I said, I don't remember anything, not really. I know I died, and medical records prove it, but one second I'm in the sanitization chamber and the next I'm in the hospital.

Huh, what do you know. Humanity hasn't entirely mangled itself to bits yet then. Color me impressed, mate.

[ He's used to weird looks. ]

Well, if someone comes knocking for your soul? We'll know why.

They'll probably be welcome to it by then.
