I think we could all use a distraction.

[Or maybe that's just her thinking about how it's been awhile since the wardens have launched something at them. The kites barely seem to count. Is something big coming? are they just counting down the days until 400? Another anniversary festival or something...worth waiting for? In probably all the wrong ways.]

So, let's play a game. It's called I Never. It's usually a drinking game, but I'll leave the type of beverage up to you. All ages. [As if anyone stops the kids from drinking booze here anyway.]

I'll say "I never went to prison." If you have gone to prison—and spoiler alert, you have—then you drink. If you're not using video then figure something else out or stop being so difficult. The objective is to find things out about each other while not getting too drunk or hydrated yourself, so normally you'd pick a true statement for yourself so you don't have to drink. But that's really up to you. [She might drink a lot just because she's done a lot of things.]

I'll start us off, I never shoplifted...from a store that hadn't already been abandoned.

[As easy as Chekov finds it to love, he realizes that it's not a word to throw around lightly. He and Lucy almost split the first time he said it because it was too soon for her.

So he won't say anything about love even when his lips are free to do so. He will, however, think that word very loudly as he tucks her hair behind her ear and traces the curve of her cheek.]

[Love was easy for her once upon a time before her heart was mostly held together with hot glue and duct tape. It's hard not to be too careful. Guarded against more breaks.

She wouldn't be mad if he said it, but... It would be hard. She'd feel like she was disappointing him by not feeling it. She'd be worried by the relationship being so lopsided. She might even be concerned that she can't love anymore. That she's broken. But she's not. She just needs to adjust. Not that there are ever any guarantees the heart will embrace what the head wants.

She does feel a flutter inside as his fingers slide softly over her skin. Flutters are good. But ultimately, instead of pressing on she lets the kissing turn into breathing. And smiles at him softly as she does.]

[Chekov has only been in love once and that relationship ended as well as any that involve two people going to different universes can. He's also had it his entire life in the form of a warm and affectionate family, caring mentors, and a handful of good, kind friends. He has lost people--his mother, close friends at home, countless friends in the City and in MarinaNova--but that only makes him more eager to enjoy the time he has with others. He hasn't been hurt, not really. That makes it easy for him to be open and unguarded.

Being hurt doesn't scare him. Losing people does.

Kitty doesn't seem to be in danger of being lost, fortunately. She looks happy and disinclined to do any kind of leaving.]

Hello. [Content is a good look on Kitty. He sort of wants to kiss her again, but there are a lot of things that can't be done while kissing. Talking, for instance. Breathing, for another.] I forgot where we are in the game.
